I ended up stopping in here solely based on the reviews I saw on Google…and they were extremely accurate! I was helped by a Joan (pronounced John) and a Justin. They could not have been more helpful or professional or personable, they even worked with me on a piece that I really wanted to purchase! I cannot stress how great of an environment this is, not your typical pawn shop where what they offer is what you get. They will spend all the time they need with you going over options, payment time-frames, etc. Honestly the easiest and best experience I have ever had at a pawnshop. I now have a gorgeous tennis bracelet on layaway that I cannot wait to pick up! Thank you both Joan and Justin, y’all have another happy customer!

I bought my son a guitar from guitar center last month for his birthday (never again) and within weeks it was losing connection. It had a loose jack and even worse issues inside we were unaware of. I called Skips. Spoke to Eric who instantly wanted to help since my son’s first show was hours away. I was so panicked because of it and needed to get it fixed immediately. He got the guitar apart and began to work on it right away. Eric was so friendly. So helpful. So knowledgeable. And he had it fixed, beautifully put back together and tuned in an hour and a half. We are Skips loyal customers from now on. No guitar center ever again. I am just so thankful for Eric and his insane expertise. Thank you so much if you see this. You made our day. Excellent customer service and music store. Bought a used Ludwig Classic Maple kit online and Rich the online service manger did an outstanding job answering several questions as well as facilitating getting the kit shipped to me in great condition. Thanks to everyone at Skip’s, great job!

The local guitar repair shop has almost vanished. When I was younger, the local guitar shop did it all and did it well. I was surprised and lucky to find Chalmers Guitar in Citrus Heights that still works that way. Carl(the owner ) replaced the bridge, set the action and intonation on my Telecaster. He even did some work on the nut to ensure everything was perfect. The Tele sounds amazing, and the playability is a dream. The level of communication and care was old school professional. It was like stepping back in time. I was also surprised he charged a fair and reasonable amount. Would I recommend Carl and Chalmers Guitar? Yes, in a heartbeat!! In fact, I have a Taylor acoustic ( I really love this guitar ) that needs his care. ~Stephen

We always have great experiences here, so I am finally writing a review! Prices are very fair and they price match if you find a better deal elsewhere. The saxophone specialist is so helpful and always goes out of his way to help my daughter with her instrument. Also, they are very patient, even when dealing with difficult customers -- which I have unfortunately observed at times, like today :(. Also, I appreciated the free service of stringing our guitar - again, they took special care to do a great job. Thank you for being such an awesome local business!

Great store. Honest and reasonable. You can get cheaper but they even strung my guitar for free when I bought strings.

Took my Marantz amp to Dave. It hadn't seen a serviceman since I bought it new in . Dave completely went through it fixing the right channel, the power supply, and the dial lights. In about days I had it back looking and sounding like new. Thanks Dave, I had forgotten how really nice this amp sounds.

I am shocked by the friendliness of this shop. It was a pleasure to play music and test out Mouthpieces and a gorgeous Selmer Low Eb Clarinet. I'm very glad to have decided coming in. I recommend this store to anyone. And the area around it is a treat on the eyes too.
