The 10 Best Sandwich Shops near me in Madison, Wisconsin

Sandwich Shops near me in Madison, Wisconsin, US.

"The gentleman who owns it was super nice. My rotisserie chicken was so tender. Prices were amazing. Thank you!"

"This place is so much more than just mall food. I've tried 3 different sandwiches and they've all been wonderful. The fries are always crispy, salted perfectly, and taste/look homemade (much better than fast food fries). Plus the strawberry lemonade is great, with a bold flavor and pretty pink color. You should give them a try!"

"Beautiful spot and great go-to Amazing coffee and amazing food. I actually think the waffles are not worth the price (you only get like, 1 waffle for $12) BUT EVERYTHING ELSE IS PHENOMINAL. I love being here no matter what I'm getting. An wonderful place to have coffee with someone. They do close at 5pm right now, so it's not great for evening studiers."

"Not much to say that hasn't been said before, but Gino's is a special place. You really can't go wrong with anything here. The spicy capicola sandwich is oh so good (and so are several others, but that one stands out in particular). I always pair it with some of the Greek salad, which is always fresh and has the perfect amount of dressing: flavorful without overpowering the tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, and cheese. The market has a ton of great treats, take-home meals, all sorts of things. And best of all, it's priced quite reasonably, which makes this a spot I regularly return to. I was surprised to see an Italian deli near the top of Madison's restaurants, and I was even more surprised when I saw the store (this location looks more like an auto repair garage than a delightful deli), but I was not surprised at all once I tried it. I've been here a number of times over the past couple years, and I plan on going back plenty more."

"They are so nice! It was pouring rain outside and I dropped my coffee. They offered to make it for free again even though it was totally my fault. They also have an amazing pastry section!"

"Go for the creative and delicious sandwiches, keep going back for the specials and never forget to grab a cookie…if they still have them. There’s a lot of love and care that goes into everything they make. They use top quality meat that is sliced fresh before it is placed between their outstanding bread. With most sandwiches you can choose between hero and focaccia. They’re both phenomenal, but my preference is the focaccia. Make sure to follow them on Instagram, so you know what specials are coming up. Be sure to give the spicy chickpeas a try and their soups look delicious. They also offer take home dinners that I haven’t tried, but I can guarantee are amazing. And the cookies, oh the cookies. If you get there past noon, they are probably sold out. There’s only one kind, chocolate chip, but it will change your life. They are soft with ribbons of chocolate and big flaky salt on top for a sweet and salty combination that will make your mouth water."

"(Last visited on 5/26/2021.) My coworker spotted this food truck/cart one afternoon and said he wanted to try it. So we did and it was so satisfying that we went back again the next day! Here's why! Atmosphere/Appearance: Seeing as this is a food truck, there isn't much to it. It's a cart that gets pulled by a truck or car of some sort, but then parked on the sidewalk on the corner of North Charter and West Johnson Street. I don't know if it visits anywhere else, but the whole week I was there the cart consistently arrived at 10:00am and left around 4:30pm. Service: The guy inside is very friendly, soft-spoken and very sweet. He makes you feel welcomed and very safe. Food: So this place specializes in Vietnamese sandwiches. That's pretty much all they do. There are 6 sandwiches you can choose from where the ingredients are chosen for you, but you can of course customize your own. Both times I went I went with chicken as a meat, then added sweet pickled carrots w/diakon radishes, spicy jalapenos, fresh cilantro and dehydrated onions. The sandwich was so different from the "usual" sandwiches I eat. It was sweet, savory, fresh and just delicious. The bread was crunchy on the outside, but soft on the inside. It had a great balance. Value: $6.50 for a sandwich. You can't beat it. If you're in the downtown Madison, WI area, check this guy out! Support the local business and you won't regret it! "First time back since the late 1970's and they did not disappoint. Best gyros in the U.S. Homemade yogurt was excellent as well. Meat is fresh, not greasy. The regular gyros is not spicy - seasoned just right and gentle on the palate. Fresh and flavorful. Authentic and delicious. Staff are friendly and inside dining was clean and fun. I can't say enough good things."

"This place is AWESOME! For me this place has the best sandwiches in town, even better than Gino's. No bland boring subs here, everything is fresh and the bread is amazing, it has the perfect balance of soft and chewiness and does not fall apart from wet fillings."

"Got take out yesterday and it was so good! The bread is to die for! We got the lox sandwich and the shaved beef and horseradish with their amazing German potato salad! Love that they have a curbside pick up option!"

"Great coffee and pastry with a fun atmosphere. Always a nice treat when downtown. Highly recommend."

"I like the Chicken Bacon Avocado Melt. The sauce is amazing. (It’s called “herby, citrus avocado sauce” on menu."

"Friendly service, Amazing food, this is one of Madison’s Hidden Gems😋 this picture is their honey mustard chicken sandwich! The chicken breast is huge and they were very generous with the bacon!! So good! 😍"

"Visited this place on a whim as I was passing through and asked if they would pack the cookies so they didn't crumble while I was traveling. The lady was very friendly and took the extra time to do a thorough job. They made it through TSA and the plane ride, they were in perfect shape when I got back to St. Louis!"

"I love Quiznos and hate that there are more of them around. And they really need to consider bringing back the bread bows! Currently I go to panera and get there a bread bowl bring it home toasted in my toaster oven like Quiznos would. Panera sells them in fact the 1st panera I went to they were sold out of them and so I went to another one close by. So I don't think you would have any problem with sales so please please reconsider perto please we consider. It's been years since you've had them and I still miss them!"

"I walk past this cafe on my way to and from work and hadn't really noticed it before. I decided to order takeout from there today. I ordered a turkey club wrap and got the lunch combo, so it came with a side and a drink. The wrap was delicious - maybe the best wrap I've ever had. I will definitely be making this a regular lunch stop from now on."

"Just got off work at 9:30 pm after a 10+ hour day and found myself really craving a burger and a shake. Drove 15 minutes to get here 15 minutes before they closed. There was someone in front of me in the drive-thru when I arrived. The gentlemen who greeted me at the window and delivered my food both had pleasant demeanors and smiles on their faces. There were three cars behind me as I was leaving. The food was exactly as I ordered it, and it really hit the spot. I just wanted to give a kudos to whoever is working the closing shift on Tuesday night for keeping up a good attitude and doing a professional job that frequently goes unappreciated, especially in the face of a late night minor rush right at closing time. Your service did not go unappreciated tonight. Thank you, and keep it up!"
