"If there ever was a restaurant that does everything right and makes it look easy, it’s Open Face Food Shop. This is one of my favorite spots in Los Angeles. The service is impeccable - it has that sweet neighborhood friendliness combined with the expert attention to make you feel like your dining experience is personalized for you. The dishes are incredibly fresh, healthy, seasonal, and flavorful. They don’t try to offer you a menu that’s a mile long - instead, they know that everything on their curated menu can be done very well, and it’s true - I always find something different to eat here and it is ALWAYS great. Other praises: their patio is lovely, they are kind to our dog, and they have a super charming new shop across the street that’s like a gift shop / general store. I love this place and I hope their residency in west Adams is long-lived!"

"Insanely good. The ratings are real, this place will NOT disappoint. I ordered the Italian style sandwich and it was one of the best I've ever eaten. This is coming from someone who spent years eating sandwiches in New York City. Highly recommend."

"Absolute banger food, and pistachio lattes were perfection. Prices were totally reasonable given the portion sizes - we shared the pasta and avocado toast and still took leftovers home between the two of us."

"The only way I can describe this place is FRESH! The food here is amazingly fresh! I would honestly trade my dog for a years supply of the chocolate chip cookies from here! One of the best turkey subs I’ve ever eaten in LA! The pizza was amazing eat it with the chocolate chip cookie and thank me later! The young lady that takes your order is so friendly and she’s not bothered by the boring question I heard other first time customers asking. Hopefully this place makes a lot of money and can set up shop near me in DTLA!"

"Awesome 👍 Sandwiches! Ordered a beef Brisket, Corned beef, and of course the all time favorites....PASTRAMI🥖😋. There was a longline but it went by super fast and well worth the wait. Oh BTW they have a Belly Buster sandwich... maybe next time it consist of two meats of your choice and it's practically double the meat of the reg sandwich ($12-13) for only 2-3 dollars more $15.00! What a deal! The reg sandwiches already have lots of meat. So good and bread super soft and 🤤 yummy! Would definitely recommend it! Planning to go back next week! Go get some and tell me what you think. P.S. Don't forget cash only...they have an ATM On-site but I think they must charge a good amount. I dunno 🤔. Aloha"

"Their wraps are so delicious. They are so stuffed that I can never finish it all in one sitting… not complaining I saved the second half for the next day and it’s still just as yummy!! The spiced chicken and the spiced cod ones are my favorite. Their cookies are great too. Oh and their lattes/cappuccinos/coffee drinks always hit the spot."

"I saw they were hosting a pick up only special pork and cheese sando and I had already been planning a visit so the stars aligned. The sandwich was huge! And very tasty. The cheese was generous and was spilling over. Easily the messiest (in a good way) sandwich I ever ate in my car. I'll need to get a tray to stash in my car for meals like this. To go with the sandwich I had a side of curry dip. It was addictive but also was a big reason why this was a messy meal. I also tried the chicken sando. Very tasty. Everything was fresh, very filling and very tasty."

"One of my favorite sandwich places. Everything from the bread to the ingredients are quality and you can see a lot of care and effort is put into it."

"I’ve been on a sandwich expedition across LA to find the best shops out there. I stumbled across this place off a friend’s recommendation and I think it worth the visit. Their roast beef sandwich was 👌👌. But if there were Michelin rating for sandwiches, I’d say this is just a Michelin-recommended, not a 1-3 star. Good quality and good people tho!"

"Maison Matho is the perfect spot for a quick weekend brunch. It's in a rather unassuming location with just a couple small cafe tables You even order from a tiny counter but the food is well beyond the usual street corner window. All the ingredients are fresh, the eggs are cooked to perfection, the bread has just the right texture, croissants are layered and flakey and even the butter is shipped in from a European vendor. Definitely worth a visit for exquisite but casual French/Euro inspired cuisine. Prices are very reasonable. Parking is a bit tricky but available on side streets. Be ready for a bit of a line/wait but absolutely worth it."

"Stop searching around for a decent, delicious and authentic sandwich!!! Garo's Deli is definitely the right place to go. Took me a while to find a parking spot in DTLA, not surprised, and finally find this Armenian deli shop located in a small alley in St. Vincent Court. I am super excited!! Walking in the shop, I am truly amazed by how clean and nicely organized of its set-up. There are different kinds of fresh bread, choices of cheese, deli meat and sides that you can build your own sandwiches OR you can go straight from the prepared sandwiches on the menu. All staffs are very friendly and helpful, I am given enough time to ask questions and explore all the goodies. I ordered two hot sandwiches: Chicken Club and Pastrami. Their sandwiches are made to order with fresh ingredients such as tomatoes, lettuce, pickles, provolone cheese and other sandwich dressings. Hot sandwiches are toasted in an oven for around 30-45 seconds with cheese. Before I took the first bite, the cross section view of these sandwiches have already won my heart and every bite is full of different textures and layers of flavors!! The only thing to mention will be the chicken, it's a little dry to my standard and I hope it could be more moist and tender next time. As mentioned earlier, the parking can be a challenge if you are not from local. You can also park in nearby lot with minimal fee and walk here for pick-up. There are about 5-6 indoor seating and 6-7 outdoor seating for small gatherings. Garo's Deli is not only a sandwich shop but also a small market where you can buy varieties of sauces and cheese which is very convenient. This amazing shop is firstly opened in late 2020 during the pandemic. Thank you Garo for serving great quality food and excellent customer service."
