Can't say enough about the Persone team! James and Mirko were so wonderful to work with and really exceeded all of my expectations. I was navigating a few different job options when I connected with James and he shifted me away from sorting through a few jobs I wasn't that excited about and instead found me an opportunity that I am so beyond thrilled about that also checked all my boxes of what I was looking for. Of all the exciting projects they are working on, they found the perfect one for me by taking the time to really ask what I was looking for specifically. They guided me through the interview process right up until I signed my offer letter. I am so excited to start my new role and recommend the Persone team to anyone looking to navigate the wild but exciting NYC hospitality scene.
Leave it to a city like New York City to help make Georgian food accessible. Cities have sit-down Georgian restaurants, but this spot is more fast-casual. It's a tiny spot with friendly service. Pictures of the dishes decorate the walls, but a server is more than welcome to recommend items. My wife and I split a khachapuri, warm flat bread from the oven with cheese, butter and egg. Mix it together for cheesy goodness. It was delicious! There are tables inside or you can get your order to go.
Hands down, one of the best restaurants in NYC. From the outside it may just look like a small cafe, but in addition to espresso, Cafe Ubani has an expansive menu of incredible Georgian cuisine. The flavors and textures are Michelin-star-worthy! We had the beet salad, cauliflower with walnut cream, cheese boat (essential!) and dumplings. These dishes were so delicious because they had authentic flavors. Our amazing server (who is one of the owners) said the spices are so unique to Georgia that they have them imported directly from there - and if they don’t have the spice one day, then they don’t make the dish. They never compromise. I’ve been to other places where cheese boats are served and they’re so Americanized that you feel sick when you leave. Not here. Cafe Ubani does it beautifully! The cheese to bread balance is perfect. I left feeling satisfied and comfortable. To top things off, we finished with the honey cake which was by far one of the best desserts I have had in years. I am already planning to go there for my birthday in April to have that cake again. Their pastry chef is amazing — whoever they are! The service was fantastic, too. We really were amazed by our experience.
First Omakase experience, excellent! Every single sushi piece was great, staff and chefs very friendly and talented, very relaxing atmosphere! Make a reservation because seats are limited (only )!
Classic Hawaiian Bowl was good. Substituted rice with kale. Nice register staff.
While in NY we had to try a food truck experience, and this one was amazing! Great service. Fast and delicious breakfast when visiting lower Manhattan. If you go near closing time (closes at am) he might be out of some ingredients. It did not affect my family, though.
Great value and awesome taste, the Hainanese chicken rice here is “SECOND TO NONE“ in the city. The chicken texture is silky and tender like tofu, with almost perfect proportion of fat and lean meat. The house-made ginger sauce nicely highlights the umami of the chicken flavor. The white pepper radish chicken soup that comes with the combo is also hearty. If you come in a group and want some variety, this well-maintained hole-in-the-wall place also offers other authentic yet affordable dishes. No wonder why it has gained such population despite the humble interior deco. Would highly recommend everyone to try.
Everything was AMAZING and super friendly people :) we landed here by accident and so glad we stopped in and changed our original breakfast plans. Highly recommend!
Amazing service, staff, and food! They were able to accommodate out party of . They went above and beyond to make sure we were accommodated. The food is high quality and it is quite reasonable in $$ considering the area. Also, it is halal which was a huge plus for our group. /
One of THE BEST vegan restaurants in all of NYC hands down! This was my second time visiting and I brought my sister who is not vegan. We were both stunned as to how the food was all vegan as it just tastes like the most amazing pasta we have ever had vegan or not! I am vegan and I wish all vegan restaurants were this good! The ambience is fantastic and overall you cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. My personal favorite is the carrot top pesto gnocchi and their extensive wine bar collection. ❤️
Outstanding sushi expertly crafted multi course service. The food was delicious and beautiful. Each course was delicious and carefully prepared. Highly recommend.
Amazing food great selection with many different combinations. I love the way it's served in a bag with all your seafood and corn and a potato, that way everything had an amazing chance to soak up all the great seasoning juices. We both got a small catch snow crab and small catch headless shrimp. I got spicy and my girl got mild. Both styles done perfectly and didn't lose a bit of flavor which can sometimes happen when you're trying to make things really spicy. The lady behind the counter was courteous quick very friendly and made some good suggestions I regret not getting her name for the review. My only issue is some of the snow crabs were not as meaty as they could have been but that wasn't a big enough problem to remove any stars. And by the way this was actually a takeout order so if the food was that great when I got home I can only imagine how much better it would have been if I had eaten there. I will definitely be coming back multiple times it's a great place for great food great fun and a good place to meet with your friends for some drinks.
We were in town visiting family and stopped here since it was only a block away on foot. The staff was friendly and the food was prepared quickly and fresh. The food was amazing. Wide selection of interesting takes on tacos. My favorite was the Philly cheesesteak taco. The steak was cooked to perfection and seasoned well.
The service was absolutely outstanding and you could tell immediately that there was passion for what they do. Such a cool, classic NY style, hole in the wall kinda joint that we all love. I got the crispy wrap (as recommended) and it was delicious. I had to tell myself to slow down because I was straight up housing it. Everything was fresh. I honestly contemplated ordering more food because I just wanted to see what else they do so right. I do happen to be vegan but I’m telling ya right now - if you love good food, then you’ll love this place. I’ll be going back for sure. Bravo to the Vegan Grill!
Heavenly fresh fish, so tasty. Every pieces were melting once it came inside of mouth. BYOB is a plus. Our chef & server were so friendly and kind. We had such a wonderful experience in here. Will def be back!
Delicious food and ready on time for pickup! I especially enjoyed the Sesame Tofu, the sauce is super good and the tofu’s texture is great. Wish I had the recipe because my tofu never comes out like this LOL ! My mom had the Chicken & Broccoli, and she liked it a lot. The veggie spring rolls were nice and crispy. Also just a heads up that the veggie dry pot is spicy (even at the regular level), so if you have a low tolerance, just be aware of that. Overall great lunch spot with friendly staff :)
