My new favorite Mediterranean spot in LA! I honestly loved everything I tried here! First off, the falafel is phenomenal! Made in-house and fried fresh, these little balls of goodness are perfectly crispy on the outside. I usually don’t get falafel when I go to Mediterranean places, but Z Falafel will make anyone a falafel lover! Their chicken kabab is also delicious. The meat is tender, juicy, and so flavorful! If you like your meats with a little added crispiness, I’d go for the chicken or beef shawarma. They’re cooked on a vertical broiler and then cut straight from the broiler and on to your plate. Can’t go wrong with their tasty beef and lamb gyro as well! I highly recommend getting a combo plate so that you can try a variety of items! When you eat in, presentation of their plates is gorgeous! Their hummus is solid. I really enjoyed dipping my falafel into it! I usually don’t like grape leaves, but theirs are stuffed with rice, tomato, onions, parsley, and fresh lemon juice…so good! The best grape leaves I’ve had! All of their plates come with a salad, and while it may look ordinary, the dressing is so yummy! It really adds to the dish rather than other places, which just throw in some lettuce for filler. Aside from their plates, they also offer sandwiches, bowls, salads, and sides. They do catering as well! Z Falafel as two locations. 8th Street is their original location, and this is their second location on Hill Street. The Hill Street location does not have any indoor seating, but they have a couple tables out front and a small covered patio in the back. They have a few parking spots available for customers, so it makes coming here all the easier!
I frequent this superb place many times as I like the special air that is characterizes this place. The crew is awfuly loving and well trained. The service is absolutely rapid. Most important, the food you eat is good. I visited many times and I was always delighted. The pay is decent. I recommend this place to to all.
Delicious bakery, great croissants, bagels, and the “Best” Pretzel Chala…. and of course Chocolate Pretzel Chala. Excellent customer service, I recommend you to try it, you will become a regular 🥐🥖🍰
Delicious middle eastern food. Today is my fourth day in a row. I love this place, delicious fresh and very reasonably priced. The service is great. Do yourself a favor, try it and you will get hooked just like me. I always get the combo plate it comes with 3 types of kababs chicken beef and kafta with 2 sides and rice !
If you want some real yummy Persian food, this is the spot. Been here so many times and it never disappoints. The Kabobs are out of this world and the rice is SO yummy. The staff were also really attentive and friendly. Lastly they have some really beautiful outdoor seating option as well.
Was exactly what we wanted. Relaxed. Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff. Menu with variety. Good prices (comparable for the area). Was fairly empty when we were there. Outside patio was also available. Plenty of parking as this is in a large plaza.
This guy has the most delicious falafel I've ever had, and coming from a middle eastern country, I've had lots of them. The falafels are so crunchy, don't taste like uncooked chickpeas, and are not greasy at all! They're also well-spiced. The tahini sauce is great and the guy selling them is so nice and welcoming. I wish the stand was somewhere outside, as the smell somehow disturbs the shopping experience in the supermarket and also it gets really crowded there. You should definitely try.
We had a wonderful time . the food was fresh, and so delicious! the place is spacious and gorgeous. the have a great selection on drinks
Shout out to Steven and Lidia for taking amazing care of us and Chef Mo for showing us how they make their amazing food. The Anwar fries are so amazing and delectable. In my opinion they are way better than animal style fries. As for the falafel gyro, make sure you order and try it. One of the best falafel Gyro for sure. Also try their salmon plate. They get their salmon from Norway and it's fresh and very tasty. Their chicken, lamb and beef are roasted on a rotating spit. And finally dessert, the baklava was one of the best I've had. Really great dining experience. I'm glad I fasted all day for the feast that I had. Check it out and enjoy.
The only Jordanian cuisine restaurant in town serves plates to entire feasts in a large, white tablecloth dining room. A happy, talented family-run restaurant. Authentic, perfectly made dishes include both mezzo (appetizers and dips) and sumptuous meat dishes, including one served on a grill with just about every protein you can think of on it. A memorable experience. Parking out back.
This is a hip Israeli food restaurant. A good place to go on a date or just hang around with a bunch of friends. Food is really good portions are not too big but not too small. If you're a vegetarian you'll love this place. Definitely I would go back again. Please make reservations in advance. There is valet parking
Had the best Falafel wrap here. We were served with freshly baked pita wrap. The owner was very kind and welcoming even though we reached at closing time.
Because there food is kosher. I always get the Holy burger because it has a little bit of everything, and it's not like the non kosher burger where it leaves you feel all bloated the Holy burger makes you feel like you ate a healthy burger I would recommend its a Really good choice where to go eat.
Here’s my scoop—the flavor palette isn’t my cup of tea, but I can tell this is really good, high quality food. I’ve never had Israeli food before so I wanted to see what it was about. The dishes I got were all very flavorful. There’s a unique blend of deep, savory seasonings that are different in each dish. I appreciate that. I thought it would be similar to Mediterranean but it’s not. It has a very unique flavor palette I’ve never experienced before. Like I said, this type of flavor doesn’t do it for me, but it is very high quality food.
I cannot stress enough how much I loved my meal at Bowery Bungalow. Fortunately, it was the perfect weather outside, warm with a slight breeze. We sat on the patio under the gazebo with a bottle of wine as the waiter brought out amazing dishes after amazing dish. Some highlights: the hummus with beef cheek and beef tongue gnocchi were unbelievable. The hen-of-the-woods and beets were also perfect light starters to get the dinner going. I don’t live in LA but each time I come back, I’ll be at this restaurant.
Food is delicious the plates are big, excellent service.
Super tasty Mediterranean food and a great place to go with friends and socialize. There’s lots of delicious small plate options to share around the table and a full bar and outdoor seating area.
Oh my god, I wish I could give stars to this place. Delicious food and fun events!! I come here twice a week. Recently the owner invited me and a few friends to be his guest at their Saturday night buffet with music and dancing, and I had a blast!! The entertainment was incredible, the food was so delicious, but the service was what really blew me away. The staff were running around all night and any request my party had was met within minutes, which was really impressive because there were so many people there!!! They kept our tea glasses full all night. Everyone was so hospitable, I can’t wait to come back!! Jay, the owner, is an angel sent from heaven, and I wish this place was more busy during weekdays. Sometimes I’m the only person in the restaurant!! Even though I want to keep this place to myself, it’s definitely a hidden gem in LA and I hope this changes soon. Thank you for everything Jay!!! My guests were so happy. You can bring your own alcohol, since they are still working on their license to serve. But they will make sure you have everything they can offer you.
This is surely one of the coolest place to eat in the area. Every time I come there I am truly satisfied. They maintain their high level service and the highest level of dishes they offer. You will be always satisfied with this place. Very recommended.
Authentic. Great spot, great food, reasonable prices friendly staff food is really tasty you can customize it however you want. In heart of downtown LA and a very nice spot I highly recommend this for whoever is looking for some tasty Mediterranean food oh and it’s a family run business. Also, everyone is treated like family. Update, if you’re within a block or two of their shop they will deliver conveniently just make sure you leave them your phone number so they can call you ahead of time
