Carl is an amazing instructor and can even tailor group lessons so that you feel like they're meant for you! Pricing is on point. You get a private minute session every week plus 2 group classes PLUS access to the dojo anytime it's open for personal practice. Great deal. We live in kent and it's getting worse every day. My kids and I are leaving valuable less than lethal options for our day to day activities in this area. Give yourself and your kids confidence, strength, stamina and knowledge for life!

I have used the training blades, sticks and wooden training weapons made by Tiger Mountain Woodcrafts for more than years. In that time I had only one handle come apart, and Ken fixed it for me on the spot free of charge. Ken Koenig is a skilled metal and wood craftsman that does beautiful work and selects his materials carefully. A retired police inspector, he also has detailed knowledge of the regulations and specifications for impact weapons used by various state, federal and local law enforcement agencies. Perhaps what draws me most to his business is that he is also a martial artist with decades of experience. When he designs training weapons he considers the balance of the original. This is a particular challenge in training blades, which need to withstand the pounding of daily training but still retain the balance of the original steel blade. Ken works a lot with a particular tempered aluminum alloy. It will not spark, so I don't have to worry about eye protection. Yet it is light and durable. I have an espada 'y daga set made as a replica of the one use by Guro Dan Inosanto. Because I'm a much bigger guy I had him customize it to be a few inches longer than the original. It turned out beautifully and is nicely balanced. Ken Koenig is also a man of honesty and integrity and dependability. A handshake agreement from Ken Koenig is worth more to me than most other people's contracts. I recommend this business with my highest rating.

It's a great place to learn self-defense while making new friends! The instructors are friendly and knowledgeable. The group sessions are a great workout and the individual sessions will hone your skills!

We love this place! I have two very energetic boys who struggle with focus, and this place is our favorite activity for them. Sensei Amanda is wonderful! She is patient but firm and the boys love their private lessons and their group classes. Tiny Tigers for has become so much fun and they absolutely love seeing their friends 3 x a week. I have tried nearly every activity/sport in the book with my kids, and we have never felt this way about any of them. I honestly have no complaints! The trial period with 3 free weeks of private lessons & group classes is such a relief with two young kids. It gave me the ability to really evaluate the program and confirm that each of my boys enjoyed it enough to join. Sensei Amanda is the best coach/teacher we have ever had and I love how great she makes my boys feel about themselves - smart, strong, confident and able. As a Mom, I find her trustworthy and kind, and know that my kids are safe in her care.

AEP is owned by Hawaii legend wrestler and D1 NCAA qualifier, Zack Hernandez. Zack is not only dominant as an athlete, but as a coach as well. He recently did a clinic at my wrestling academy and the kids loved it. His technique is high level but he can also slow it down for younger wrestlers. I’ve also been to one of his camps where he tells stories of his wrestling career. It’s very inspirational for the kids. I would definitely recommend any coach to use hire Zack for a clinic.
