I’ve trained BJJ for over 5 years and visited dozens of gyms across the country. Professor Daniel teaches some of the best fundamental classes that I’ve ever taken. He shows the important details that some instructors gloss over but more importantly explains the concepts that contribute to the success/failure of a technique. Solid fundamentals win Jiu jitsu matches and MMA fights. The Daniel Gracie Team fighters have made that apparent with their pro MMA records. I highly recommend you take a class and find out for yourself. There are no easy rolls, I can promise you that.
I have been going here for a little over a month and it is great! Everyone is friendly and welcoming. The amount of classes and varying times is awesome. It helps me be flexible of when I can go. I have always wanted to try a martial art, and I am so happy I found Old City Aikido. I was a bit anxious when I first went, as I had no prior experience, but everyone was great and welcoming. I never feel like I'm doing terrible and the instructors (sensei's) pay attention and help each student learn at their own pace.
Both my niece (6) and nephew () take classes here and the enjoy it. We had been in a number of competitions and came home with 🥇 🏆. The instructors there are amazing with children of all ages.
I've been training at Juniper for almost a year now, and I can honestly say it's been life changing. Shout out to Coach Joe and George for creating such an incredible community! I feel stronger than ever, confident, supported, and have made so many new friends! Whenever I'm having a hard day, I know that the Juniper community has my back. Its been an incredible experience training here.
I walked into North Star MMA gym less than a week ago. I have zero experience, and have always wanted to do martial arts of some sort but never worked up the courage to walk into a gym. I finally made the commitment and showed up to North Star and minutes into my first class, I knew I would be joining as a full time member. Coach Jackson has been super knowledgeable, informative and patient in his coaching style with a beginner like me. Every member I have met has also been super helpful and welcoming. Cannot recommend this gym enough!!
My son started almost a year ago. He learned so much and gained the confidence I knew he needed. All the Sensis are kind and great with the kids. A lot of patience and understanding. The training is great. For me though as much as I love all the above but I must say it’s a family. We joined the Amerikick family and it truly was the best decision I ever made. As a mother I was dealing with personal issues and the Amerikick family was there and supported me. Just the support gave me the confidence to stand up for myself. Truly not just changed my son’s life but changed my life as well. I absolutely love Amerikick and the family. Thank you all for everything and the continued support.
Josh and Angie are phenomenal coaches with extensive BJJ knowledge, and their capacity to effectively communicate it to their students is laudable. Their teaching styles are methodical and systematic which establishes a foundation for high level instruction. Their facilities are immaculate and rife with amenities including showers/spa services, and even rogue lifting equipment. However, most notable is perhaps the community constituents whom are all amicable, considerate, and a joy to be around. It's always a pleasure to train here, and I highly recommend checking it out!
