Great cocktail bar in High Street Place. Our bartender (Joe) was a real pro who seemed to know every other great cocktail bar/bartender in Boston (even the old timers). And the drinks were superb!
Would come here again and again. Excellent atmosphere and vibes. The cover music playlist was a hit with the party. Plenty of board games to play, shuffle board, foosball, vintage arade games, and amazing drinks. Our bill was charged incorrectly, but then was easily fixed once mentioned. The staff was super friendly and easy to talk with.
Excellent food! Great presentation and quantity. We ordered the popcorn shrimp, crab fingers and okra fry, all were amazing. The shrimp etouffee was FILLED with shrimp- I have never seen a restaurant give so many shrimps in an entree. The sticky chicken was so well cooked. Highly recommend this place
Excellent restaurant. First off. It's a beautiful setting. Second it was very clean. Third, the service was outstanding Last but not least the food. The New England clam chowder may have been the best we ever had. I had the fisherman's pasta, outstanding. My wife had the haddock with crab stuffing, good but not quite outstanding. Drinks were good
Amazing restaurant with nice laid-back ambience and friendly staffs. Tried their salmon poke, slow braised short ribs, and crab & ricotta tortellini. All the dishes were amazing, but my favorite was the salmon poke. It seemed like they used salmon belly with nice fat portions for their poke, and with a light soy marinade, it was undoubtedly one of the best salmon slices I had on a poke. The short ribs and the tortellini also came with an impeccable presentation, and they did an exceptional job with the seasoning with both (tortellini and the Mac & cheese). Their rustic gastro pub style interior initially made me invoke images of unhealthy tavern food, but overall I am impressed by all the delightful/ healthy touches they implemented on their dishes, and I will definitely be back to try their brunch.
I recently toured two out of state friends around New England, with a final stop in Boston. This was a place I knew we had to visit, and even though it took us two tries to get in, it was well worth the wait (definitely make a reservation). I loved the vibe of this place, there was something new to see and experience every place you looked. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the cocktails were out of this world. Something for everyone, and the mystery roll if you're feeling adventurous (and as someone a bit nerdy, I appreciated the d). I could have looked through the notebooks paired with the menus for hours, and tried to leave a few good contributions of my own (not pictured, can't take credit for that one 😉). I hope one day they will publish some into a book; it reminds me of Post Secret back in the day. I really hope to go back someday soon, cheers to these folks for an amazing location.
Very high quality oyster bar in Back Bay Area right across from Hynes Conference Center that’s worth a visit for lunch or dinner. For us, they had a very nice selection of 7 oysters local and otherwise that were all really exceptionally fresh. The crab legs were quite average so would skip it next time and just opt for the crab salad which was really excellent. Being an uni lover, I was partial to the uni toast but it was really just some very fresh uni on top of a baguette without any other accoutrements (bit overpriced but I’m not too mad). The salmon crudo is superb. Not pictured are the grilled octopus which is a must order, and the clam and chorizo stew which was just the hearty dish you’d want for a cold Boston day. Our colleague ordered the halibut as the main and was relatively satisfied with it but in all honesty, you might be quite well off just splitting a ton of oysters and other raw items. Nice and intimate sit down area in the back for larger parties and overall service was very friendly and timely. Would certainly come back.
This place is so good I almost don’t want to share my review. The bar staff is incredible. So kind and knowledgeable. The drinks are delicious and the food sublime. I can’t say enough good things! Also, small secret, bourbon list and price is out of this world
I was in Boston for a day and needed a place to eat lunch. My dad and I stopped here after reading some good reviews: it did not disappoint. We were welcomed with some complementary pickles, and the waitress was quick to help us out. We never had to wait on anything and the food was brought out in a timely manner. On top of this, the burgers were absolutely delicious, and to finish things off, we grabbed milkshakes for the go. This place is definitely worth stopping by to grab a tasty burger.
Behind a nondescript black door on an alley-way in the Leather District (you've gotta call the number next to the door), is probably one of the best bars in Boston. An intimate space, with dim lighting and armchairs you just sink into, the decor is subtle and loud at the same time (there's nothing subtle about a stag head on a wall, but you barely notice it somehow). The acoustics are such that even when people look like they're being loud in the seats across from you, you can't hear them, but the person you're across from can hear you sorta clearly. The drinks are great. I had the Seaward, and I don't think I've had such a beautifully layered and complex drink in a while. Blended and meshed so perfectly i can't identify the specific ingredients, and the aftertaste from the leaf in it was invigorating, but not overwhelming. My friend had an Espresso Martini, and they said they've never had a better one, and I agree. I'm not a fan of those, but I'd definitely drink that. Now, this is a speakeasy, so good drinks are expected. Their food however, also bears mentioning. I had the burger, which was a great burger overall. Unfortunately, it was compared to the Pow Pow shrimp my friend had, and the burger fares poorly there. The absolute explosion of flavor that was the shrimp was unexpected but oh so good. The name is very apt. Service was quick and friendly, not overly chatty but also not completely standoffish. It should be noted that the check comes with cigarette candy in a cigarette case, which I felt was a nice touch. Overall, loved it, and definitely coming back.
Loved this place!!!! Such a great ambience and great customer service! This place has some really good photo spots. Not only this but food and drinks here are top!! I am definitely going here every time I visit boston!! We ordered queso, veggie tacos and veggie empanadas. All the plates were delicious and outstanding!!
One location not to miss when you visit Boston. Advanced bookings is highly recommended as there is a long wait for available tables. We had the grilled octopus, grilled peppers, oysters, bone marrow and mussels. The IPA on tap is very good and of course try both the seafood and vegetarian paellas.
A must try if you are in Boston. One of the best cocktails I’ve ever had. They make them from scratch just listening to your preferences a true mixology bar. Plus the food is also really good, please try the fries. The ambiance of this place is excellent for a night out with friends or a date. You can sit at the bar an enjoy watching the barman make magic with the drinks.
Literally the best experience at a fine dining restaurant. Went for my birthday, on a Monday. It was busy. The hostess were super friendly, they complimented me on my outfit + hair and decorated our table with confetti and a hand written card. Our waiter, FRANK was amazing! Shout out to him for providing us with great recommendations and overall service. He kept our table entertained with conversations + jokes. . We did the dine out Boston prefixed menu with an item off of the regular menu. From drinks to dessert, we were satisfied. We will be sure to come back for future occasions. - we parked in the garage right next to the restaurant (not sure if they validate tickets) -love the ambiance -took cute photos outside the main entrance in the mall. -bathrooms were clean -Lighting was dim but cozy -music was light/ volume was medium -staff was super kind, thanks to the chef who brought out our calamari b/c it was “time sensitive” and had to be eaten right away lol.
Wanted to eat somewhere opposite Boston Common and went here for brunch. Luckily, there was a table right by the window and facing the common. Blue skies gave us a lovely view. We both ordered the burger and we could smell the wonderful aroma of the parmesan truffle fries when it was served to us. The burger was scrumptious and filling. We had two different waiters as one was going off shift, but both were lovely. The service was excellent and will be going back the next time we're in Boston. We later went back for lunch on the Monday and food was just as excellent.
August : Loved 😍 the roast beef sandwiches. Shared the T and the three way. Also tried a side of the coleslaw. Both sandwiches were really good. My fav was the three way. The BBQ sauce and mayo hit the spot! I'd definitely come back again for more delicious sandwiches 🥪!
If you want the best drinks in Boston look no further. This is an amazing bar with a better selection. If you are looking for something new and interesting try this place out. The food isn't half bad either doe nibbling and only big enough to share with 2 or 3 max. I would say to try the Milk Punch and all the drinks under the greens are amazing.
Mmm their ribs are so good! The bao tacos were really tasty too! The plates are definitely on the small side, so it’s fun to order multiple and share. It’s got a bit of a funky vibe which is fun. Definitely not your traditional place in Chinatown.
Love love love! Came here for a quick bite before a concert and found ourselves wanting to stay longer! Great atmosphere. Drinks amazing food incredible. Service top notch. French onion, house pizza were great but omg the risotto is a must have! We will be back!
