I didn't go on the tour of the farm, as I had 3 soaking wet dogs with me, but everything I purchased today is robust in flavour. Ethically raised cows is a win for everyone. Balsamic vinaigrette, hot jill cheese, Qualicum spice cheese, cheese curds, artisan crackers... All amazing. A+

We are blessed to coincidentally make it to Saturday opening hours of Kootenay Alpine Cheese Company during our trip. My heart lifted to see one of their principle: "Healthy Soil" - good food from the soil up in addition to creative-modern hygienic humane treatment for their cows and probably all plants and animals living in this farm. They use a robot system to milk their cows, an automated mechanical manure scrapping system, a Fly vacuum to get pesky flies off their cows back; harmful chemical sprays are never used to maintain bugs benefit to the ecosystem; they even provide dedicated area called "Calf Barn" and "SPA" for New (cow) Moms and Special Needs, SO COOL!!! We did not see anyone during our self guided tour except many contented yet curious cows; it was really funny (and amazing) to watch how their cows queued in front of the milking gate then adjusted their feet for the robot arms :)) Happy soil, happy cows, happy people. What is happening with Cotija cheese? They are disappearing from the two markets where I buy them. (Food 4 Less & Jon's) My family and I love cotija cheese, the truth is the best. Really great people making superb cheeses. I honestly loved everything I tried, but the Hoppin Mad cheese with hops in it was my favorite. If you get a chance to take a free tour during one of their Open House weeks do not pass it up. They teach you about their cheese making process, show you their equipment and cheese cellar, and they finish it of with cheese samples!

I had been wanting a reading from Tarah for a long time! We did a palm reading and tarot reading. It was really cool to learn about my palm and see how easy it is for an experienced reader to see my personality and lessons to be learned. I am an appliance repair technician and had the luxury of coming out to this beautiful farm in Jacksonville Oregon to work on a washer and dryer for them. When I got done they were gracious enough to tip me with a container of their French onion cheese spread. I have to say hands down some of the best cheese I've had and I even got to see them making some. it's legit as fresh as it gets and taste amazing! Plus they are really awesome down to earth people I highly recommend giving them a try you will not be disappointed!
