Cajun Restaurants near me in San Diego, California, US.

"This place was delicious. Service was really good as well. We went at lunch time though. Not sure how dinner service is. Only downside is the place is small but cute. We had a group of 6 and they had to do some rearranging but they got us seated very fast. Oh and it's downtown so you have ti find parking where you can. Overall the place was outstanding."

"Bud’s is one of the best Cajun/Creole restaurants in San Diego county. Tucked away in a business park at Kearny Mesa’s eastern edge, they are known for their gumbos, grits, and alligator sausage. I really like the red beans, rice, and chicken entree, as well as their bisque. The fried pickles are pretty killer as well. The owner is really friendly and cool!"

"Came back for the first time after about 2 yrs. Walked in and put my name on the list. I like that they text you twice, having the 2nd text be "your table is ready". There were only 2 things not available today: live crayfish & something else that I don't remember and don't eat. I ordered for the table - 6 oysters, 1 gumbo, 10 cajun wings, 3lbs of sausage in shebang in all 3 levels of hot, 4lbs of snow crab in shebang in all 3 levels of hot, 3lbs of shrimp in all 3 levels of hot, 3 corns in butter, 4 rice, diet coke, Sapporo, & a michelada. Everything was so delicious. Angela was our server and she was great and then Isaiah. The oysters were fresh, no grit or anything. The wings were spectacular as was the snow crab. The shrimp was nicely cooked and juicy. Not overdone at all. Corn was over done, so it was okay. I wish they had another location like in San Marcos. I would go every week."

"One of my favorite go to restaurants for a special occasion. Fresh seafood cooked to perfection! The boil bucket is a must, my favorite it a mixture of everything with the house pices and 1/2 medium spicy, however you can customize your own with your favorite seafood, spice level and sauce flavor."

"My husband and I were really craving some Cajun food. My mom and that whole side of my family is from Louisiana and we’re both from Texas so it’s something we miss living out here. This place blew us away! I had the crawfish etouffee and it was packed with crawfish and had the perfect amount of spice to it. My husband had the gumbo and it had a dark roux base and the sausage literally melted in our mouths. We both got out own fried catfish plates and honestly it was so much fish we could have shared one! It was worth getting two orders though because it did eventually all get eaten!! It was so gooood y’all. 10/10 would recommend and we will definitely be back."

"Definitely deserves a stop by. I am a seafood lover, Simply ordered shrimp with the full house sauce/medium heat. It was perfectly cooked, satisfyingly juicy and extremely flavorful."

"Hesitant at first -- trying to live up to Louisiana style cuisines in San Diego is a bold move.... But buddy let me tell, this was honestly the best food I ate during my stay in San Diego while visiting. Everything was packed with flavor.... I ended up searching for a location in Louisiana after eating... The atmosphere that's set will cause you to lose track of time, if you aren't careful."

"Just finished my first meal at Shrimp Heads, and oh my goodness it is so good! We got the house deal and it is the perfect portion for the price, the house sauce was amazing, and all of the seafood tasted so fresh! Also tried the fried okra and calamari, awesome! Finally, the service was impeccable! Definitely will be coming here again and again."

"My 1st time ever popeye's chicken. I am a big fan I would say it's definitely = if not better than Chick-fil-A. I did get the chicken sandwich and fries. The chicken sandwich was a nice piece of white meat chicken breast with a very good crunch and good sauce. The French fries have that Cajun seasoning like curly fries do which I really enjoyed. And it's a very affordable lunch or day. The staff was amazing and fast and the food was piping hot"

"Been here a couple times and each time the food is amazing. Service has been quick, the wait time is less then 15 minutes. Enough parking so parking isn't an issue. Definitely a place to try out if you are trying new cuisines."

"This popeyes located on Mira Mesa Blvd. It's always busy and slow, but I find the chicken and sides very good. Today, I wanted to try the Mac & Cheese and I wasn't disappointed. I wanted to get a small, but they were out of it and only had a large for .50cents more. I ordered it and glad I did. I was amazed how it looked like Mac & Cheese like my mom made with lots of cheese and oven crispness on top of it. I tried Chick-fil-A Mac & Cheese too. I like both and you can't go wrong with either one. It's a win 🏆 win for us all. Enjoy yelpers."

"I always like my poppeyes experiences and this time was a aptly as all the other. Excellent. Got the 3 thighs , a side of mash and gravy, a basket and you guessed it. Had to get the sweet ice tea again. Very good. I think even if I had a poor experience that the food is so good that it wouldn't even matter but the service is always good to. Yummmmm."

"First time at this location. The people where very nice and helpful, me and the wife where having issues trying to decide what to buy. The helpful person at the register suggested a family meal that was economical and got us what we wanted. Love the chicken, even over KFC . I use to be a big fan of KFC. Now Popeye's is my favorite friend chicken place. Also only of the only places you can still get a fried apple pie!! Oh those things are bad for you .. but they are so good!!. I hate McDonald's stopped making them.. if I wanted healthy I would not be going to far food restaurants, I know what I'm getting. And every one else should too. Oh we tried their gallon tee, it's a weird looking hard plastic bag. (Images included). But it's some of the best tee around. I wish there where more Popeye's locations around, no where near where I live 🙁. Like there golden corral s... Either way now I'm going on other tangents.. Popeye's! Good!"

"Food is always good...unfortunately had to wait for them to cook mild chicken tenders.... good & bad.... 15min wait - fresh hot chicken tenders were really tasty!! Red Beans and rice, great and mashed with gravy excellent. Biscuits are yum..... their blackened ranch sauce is really good!"

"From the moment you walk in its just a feel good eat great environment. Happy staff members. Awesome, delicious, tasty, crunchy, fresh, fluffy spices, did I mention delicious! Great music too to let you escape for a moment of something different. So glad you opened this location. We had the family meal with sides red rice beans, mashed potatoes, slaw. All the sides were full of flavor and fresh."

"This place always has a long line in the drive thru especially during quarantine however they are pretty quick so the wait isn't too bad. Can't go wrong with their chicken sandwiches and they currently have the $5 shrimp box (5/22/2020) Food is good, highly recommend it. Try the Cajun rice with gravy (they charge extra for it)"

"Went to this Popeye's with my young daughter as we enjoy eating fried chicken, service at the drive thru was outstanding and the lady at the window very amicable, chicken was really good as well as the mashed potatoes, enjoyed eating in the car with my baby girl, life is good!, what more can I say? loved this Popeye's"
