Very cool artwork and friendly gallery manager. We even ran into the artist himself on one visit and he autographed the books we bought for our children and was very warm and welcoming. The books make fantastic gifts as well!

Incredible neighborhood coffee shop. The lattes taste amazing and the book selection is excellent. The employees were so kind and there is very comfortable indoor and outdoor seating.

One of my favorite bookstores ever! The owner is such a kind person, and while they don't buy every book you might bring (because of course they still have to make money), I find that the value of store credit that you receive for the books you do sell back to them is well worth it. They have a great selection of new and used books on the shelves, and you can even find some cute and nerdy little gifts for the book-reader in your life. I won't go to a Barnes & Noble again so long as I live near Blue Cypress Books!

What a cozy place in all the big city N. Orleans vibes. Original we had planned on getting coffee before going here and we did. Then it started pouring rain and we ran to the bookstore (which was only three or four stores down). We were offered paper towels to dry off and we went to looking. I wish I had taken pictures of all the vintage leather bound books because the collections available were so great. We were walking around looking and about to leave once it started raining when I looked at once of the spinning “displays” and saw a book I had wanted for such a long time but could never find in person. I looked through some other books and the prices are very reasonable. I loved this place and totally recommend for everyone

Went in a mission to find some rare soul and funk by the Meters. I found exactly what I was looking for. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They had albums CDs cool T shirts. You can pick up some unique items here. Top Notch!

Very cool bookstore in the heart of the garden district. Not huge but big enough to have a lot of big name books and a lot of eclectic harder to find ones as well. A friendly dog named Pete also patrols the aisles looking for pets and friends. Definitely recommended!

Awesome place with tons of great books of all types and tons of wonderful records. Everything is at great price. Worth visiting. And they have an adorable cat who was really friendly.

Such a cool bookstore and of course used to be Faulkners House. Sits back in Pirates Alley and should pop in and take a look. Huge selection of books and the man working there was very nice and very knowledgeable.

This bookstore is absolutely crammed with books from floor to ceiling—I've never experienced anything like it. At first it may seem like a mess, but once you start looking closely at the authors and titles, you'll notice they are all meticulously organized. The selection is, of course, wonderful, and the prices are good. The charm is its only downside: it's really difficult to maneuver through the piles and sift through books. I didn't have the heart to poke around too much lest it all come down on my head. The owner is kind, knowledgeable, and can help you locate anything you may be looking for (he was even able to recall if he had the author I was looking for off the top of his head). If you have some spare time and are down for a slightly claustrophobic adventure, definitely pay a visit!

We had no idea this bookstore was here. We stumbled across this amazing collection of books and were not disappointed at all. The owner is kind and super helpful. He is knowledgeable about his books and he went out of his way to help me, even stopping what he was doing to put a protective cover over the book I purchased. I do have a limited collection of books, nothing to write home about, but his care and concern for the book I stumbled across was superb! Much appreciated. This bookstore is the kind that movies are made about… some long, lost ancient book with secret puzzles can be found here! It is a true treasure hunt experience. Enjoy yourself!
