We came for lunch and ordered sesame balls and fried wontons as starters. Both were delicious! We then had the crispy pork belly and the fried chicken in panang sauce. These dishes were incredible, the flavors were amazing! We didn’t adjust the spice and if you don’t usually eat spicy food it would probably be somewhat hot, but they have options to adjust the spice level. Overall so delicious, we’ll be coming back!
Easiest five stars EVER. The wait staff is courteous, quick, and friendly. The food is RIDICULOUSLY delicious. I got the chicken teriyaki, Pink lady roll (new favorite roll) and the Amazing roll. For dessert, do yourself a favor and get the deep fried cheesecake. SO tasty. Will definitely be returning. Worth the jaunt across the river.
This food cart has the best cooked chicken I've had in a while! The chicken satay screws were cooked to perfection! You must try the delicious crab puffs as well! Thank you La Mai Plate for an amazing lunch!
//: 4.5 out of 5 - Came to try Baka Umai as a recommendation from my friend, as it's his favorite ramen place (He must live close by as he eats at Baka Umai as often as he can). 😂 Masks are required which is expected, but this establishment isn't partaking in any of the Social Discrimination Policies that some restaurant owners/management are choosing to do. Now moving on, all orders are done at the counter. Kind of the thing these days. However, do check out the Special Menus that's at the counter. Some surprising items that caught my interest, which may catch yours. The staff are incredibly nice and accommodating. They were quick to respond to our requests and make some good suggestions, which just adds to a relaxing and enjoyable meal. The space isn't as big, but it's a comfortable use of the space. Also, the space is quite clean, to include the vents above, which is always one of pet peeves when eating out. Cleanliness says a lot about the business, the owner/management, and the employees. Now, for the food...we HAD to order A LOT to get a sense of what we're getting into. All in all, WOW! The flavors in the broth were amazing, along with some side dishes. There were a few side dishes that sort of threw me off, but it was because of the combination of flavors that I wasn't prepared for. All in all, at the end of any meal I often will ask, "Would you come back?" Of course. There were things on Baka Umai's Special Menu that I would like to try, but most importantly, it's because of our initial experience that is drawing me to come back for more. And, of course, not being reference as "others" by a form of discrimination. So, if you ever get a chance and find yourseld in the neighborhood, definitely try Baka Umai once and decide for yourself. Enjoy!
I absolutely love coming here. The woman that works the counter is always so sweet and attentive and the food is BOMB! So flavorful and good-sized portions are served. The prices are extremely reasonable too. Can’t go wrong coming here for some Korean.
Got myself a cruncher shrimps roll and salmon Philly roll. Maximum awesome place to eat and was given fantastic service from our server, Nathanial. Somehow me memorized our complex orders (8 person table). Didn’t write anything down and landed the order perfectly. Wildly impressive. Also, the sushi was amazing. First time having real wasabi, too. Life changing my good. This place rules!
I tried it for the first time last week, and I loveeee it!!😍 It’s around $ per drink but I love all the fruits and yogurt! So definitely coming back for more!! PS: Went again today and the young staff who was helping me was super friendly. :)))) PPS: my favorite flavor is mango sago and Dragon fruit 🤤
Food was delicious. Got the golden coco curry noodles, unagi bowl, and pork belly bowl. Favorite was the strawberry cheese bubble tea smoothie with real strawberries and brown sugar! Owner was super nice, had a great chat! Thank you :)
We tried this one cart out today and it was a great meal for us . We had the catfish po boy and it was delicious. The banana pudding was so yummy and creamy and sweet . There is plenty of picnic tables / area you can choose from there is parking but it’s mostly street parking . I believe there is around 8/9 carts to choose from also a little restaurant next to the carts.
Amazing food! Very flavorful and tasty! Cute little place with great service! I had steelhead and my partner had cod. Love everything that came with it! So good! 😋
