Here are some reviews from our users.
"This place is legit. Some of the best, most authentic Japanese I've had in years. You can add Sukiyaki as a bento selection for an extra three dollars, which is worth it since it's a good-sized portion served in a nabe, not in the bento box. The hotate and uni were quite fresh and the sashimi (maguro & sake) was like butter. The tempura was spot-on. We were bummed that the Dragon Roll was only 4 pieces but they were large and very yummy. We'll definitely be back!"
"Great sushi and they are pretty fresh."
"Stellar. THIS is real sushi. I'm going to go step by step, so details below. First, the tea was free. This may seem cursory, so let me explain. The tea served at sushi restaurants is not simply for tradition. It's also to aid in digestion and prevent sickness from ingesting raw food. For those that choose not to drink sake, the tea is an important part of the meal. Furthermore, from a traditional standpoint, offering guests tea without trying to charge them for it is a gesture of hospitality and good manners ubiquitous in Oriental Asia. So the tea being served free means a lot. Second, the service was neither rushed nor neglectful. The waitress checked in on us regularly and answered any questions we had regarding the menu, being quick to inform us when something we wanted was unavailable and refilling our tea proactively. Third, the sushi was of excellent quality (and I mean EXCELLENT) with generous slices, and it was authentically crafted. Here's how to tell: 1. The Sushi Rice was as it should be. Well seasoned and flavorful, but not overpowering, and when eaten with the fish, smooth and slightly slippery. The sushi rice properly enhanced the flavors of the fish and made swallowing the chewed food delightfully easy. 2. There was a light swab of wasabi paste between the fish and the rice of each nigiri. Horseradish and authentic Wasabi both hold properties that help prevent illness from ingestion of raw ingredients. It's imperative that a small amount be included. Improperly made sushi by imitators often neglect this swab of wasabi because they do not know the significance of it. 3. It tastes damn good. Better than how the raw fish and rice would normally be. Seriously, if you could've eaten the piece of fish with a dollop of rice and had the same result, that isn't sushi. Last, but not least, the prices were reasonable. Heck, they could've been a bit higher and I'd still be back, but as it is, I'll DEFINITELY be back. Tomi Sushi is a far cry from the vast majority of sushi restaurants I have visited, and likely the only one I'll be revisiting in the near future. You want real sushi? Come here."
"This place is very good, the quality of the food is good especially the sushi, according to my friend who studied in Japan! I love the salmon, good texture of fish meet with very good flavor and fresh feelings, I also like the tempura, crunch outside but juicy inside! The service is very good also, there is a cute girl she always comes to fill your tea. I accidentally knocked my tea over and she was there right away to help me, to give me tissues and towels, to tell me don't worry, she is just so cute with a smile on always! We would love to come back again!"
"Similar to the one in the Mountain View. Overall it tastes good, just the dragon roll has too much rice. The service is also good and quick. There are enough seats on weekend and no need to wait if you arrive before the noon."
