"Warning: disturbing exhibits! Oh I loved this place! Could stay hours reading every single description. So much to see! Not only the regular exhibits but a couple of new ones, very interesting and informative. If you are not easily disgusted this place is for you!"
"Very cool way to learn about medical history. Some of the exhibits require a strong stomach, but all are absolutely fascinating. The specimens are cool of course, but the way they're organized and explained is exceptionally well-done. Highlights: - Samples of Einstein's brain, an analysis of it's abnormalities, and the weird history of its journey after his death. - The Spit Spreads Death exhibit, which highlights some of the local history of the Spanish Flu pandemic. Very interesting how the public health response of years ago compares to what's been going on the in the last 2 years. There is a lot to see! I went with my husband and a friend and we spent a couple of hours wandering and checking things out and weren't able to cover everything. I think the admission price was worth it for the experience and I would like to go back to see what we missed!"
"Such an interesting and medically impressive place. Nice, brief show on Civil War surgery too. Very interesting samples. A little more description in layman's terms would be nice, but overall, a great visit. No photos allowed outside of the lobby."
"If you love weird, odd, and strange medical pieces, this is for you. I have had this spot on my bucket list for 8 years. It did not disappoint. I wish there was more honestly. It had some areas where you could take photos, which was cool. Photos are not allowed past a certain spot. Tickets need to be purchased. They have lockers for free (just need a quarter like Aldis). My favorite pieces were the wet specimens. Worth every minute there."
"I love The Mütter Museum! It is one of my favorite museums. If you like the strange, weird, odd or peculiar this is the place for you. It’s also a great place for those interested in medicine, anatomy, medical specimens or medical instruments. There is so much to see and experience. Some of it is interesting, some of if is disgusting, but it’s all a learning experience. And, there is a fabulous gift shop. I recently went to Dr. Mütter’s Merry Emporium, a holiday market of sorts. It was a fantastic event. There was a variety of vendors and so many items to choose from. You really have to have a Mütter moment yourself."
