Definitely recommend this place if you want to try hot pot but want personal size pot and something not too spicy. The service is awesome. Very friendly and attentive! Meat and seafood is very fresh. Various selection of broths (spicy and non spicy). There's also a dipping sauce station where you can create your own sauce. Reservation not required but recommended. Went there on Sunday noon and they're not too busy.

Yummm - if you’re in the mood for some delicious, high quality hot pot, this is the place to go! We were there for a celebration so may have ordered a little fancier than I usually would, but it was sooo worth. Soup: I ordered the half/half exquisite silver soup and Szechuan spicy! Both were delightful, the silver soup comes with some raw extra meats on the side (pig ear I think, and chicken) that flavor the broth as it cooks, and were so tasty to munch on at the end of the meal after they were fully cooked. The truffle broth was also amaaaazing, we were drinking soup towards the end of the meal. Food: We ended up getting both of the wagyu platters, jumbo scallop, beef/lamb platter, tofu skin, veggie basket, premier cru beef (I think), shrimp pate, wood ear, enoki mushroom, lotus, golden rice balls and durian pancake! Everything was exquisite, particularly the melt-in-your-mouth wagyu slices and cubes and the shrimp pate. We loved the scallops but kept losing them in the broth since...

We are fans of hot pot and The Dolar Shop is one of our favorites in NYC. This was our first time visiting their location in East Village and the decor is impressively cozy & wide-spaced. The staff was super friendly, welcoming and served everything quickly. We got their signature Exquisite Silver Broth, Tomato & Oxtail Broth and Szechuan Hot & Spicy Broth. The best broth in our opinions is their signature Silver broth and the ingredients which came with the broth, especially the chicken, was delicious. Most meat & veggies we ordered were fresh with high quality and we recommend to have their chewy shrimp Pâté and tender 10 Sec. Beef Tongue. The Dolar Shop is a hot pot restaurant but they serve delicious & satisfying soft serve which makes the entire dining experience perfect.

Great quality food, highly recommend! I went with a few friends and we got a few different broths, the Truffle mushroom soup and Silver soup were so delicious! The meats were of very high quality - get the beef and lamb platter, it will not disappoint! Very nice ambience too

We went to NYC for the first time, my daughter found this restaurant on Yelp and we took the bus from Central Park to this place. We’re surprised with the name, but we went inside and the place was very nice. It’s supposed to be a Japanese hot pot a la cart restaurant, it’s kinda same as Shabuya in Milpitas, CA. The price of each plate is reasonable with the quality of food they give. We have to pay for each broth differently from $10-15. I got the house, my wife got the spicy one, my daughter and son got the dual broth spicy and reg. They’re all tasty. The only thing different with the buffet is the vegetables, here we have to pay, the noodles. Every table has its own tablet for customers to order. We ordered 2 portions of beef, my son favorite pot belly. All meats tasted perfectly with the broths. There’s sauce bar which we had to get the sauce to mix for our own taste. The service was excellent, everyone was fast and attentive. My daughter loved the sweet corn. Yes, it cost more to...

Everything was exquisite, particularly the melt-in-your-mouth wagyu slices and cubes and the shrimp pate. We loved the scallops but kept losing them in the broth since they got so tiny, so keep an eye on your scallop! Everything was also much bigger portions than I was expecting, it was pricey but I felt like I was getting my moneys worth. Sauce bar was also great, they gave us a Dolar Shop special sauce which was tasty but I love my sesame sauce based sauces for hot pot. The spicy dry seasoning was also really unique and REALLY tasty, highly recommend trying it. There was also kimchi, peanuts and fruits! Watermelon juice was also lovely and refreshing, and we ended our meal with some complimentary vanilla ice cream! All in all not a spot I would come to for a daily meal since it is pricey, but will absolutely come back for a fancy celebration dinner. Definitely check this place out!!"

Yes, it cost more to dine here but we liked it, we wanted to come back for the early birds but we didn’t have time since we had so many places to try. If we ever visit NYC, we definitely visit this place again since we got free ice cream."
