I seen this place a while back while shopping at a local liquor store, I thought it was a cookie shop, sure was wrong, not only do they have cookies , they have pies , delicious, fresh and savory pies, fresh fruit and heat and eat pies, my pics should show menu as there is too much to list ,I bought the fresh Brown sugar peache pie,it was about 5 inches across ,great crust thin and flaky, peaches were rememberable, also bought the steak and stout, very very delicious if you like beef pot pie, this is beef and beer one, steak was hearty and delicious, same great crust,. Now the 3rd pie was a spicy mushroom pie. I personally never had such a delicious pie, honestly, I can't describe what deliciousness it is, please go and try, really, worth the drive., keep.in mind pies are 8 dollars and personally, well worth the price, they also have homemade Brittle, thats my next buy....

One of THE BEST pies I have ever had. I HIGHLY recommed the Chicken Pot Pie Savory Pie. The crust is extremely flakey and buttery. The filling is gooey and mimicks a legit chicken pot pie, and they are so easy to reheat in an air fryer or toaster oven at home! You can easily buy a couple and eat in the next couple of days after refrigerating them. I found them at the San Mateo Farmers Market and the woman running the stand was so friendly! I recently have been sensitive to eating lots of onions and she gladly helped me navigate through the ingredients of each savory pie. Unfortunately ALL the pies do have onions, but the Chicken Pot Pie had very minimal onions that chopped finely! I'm glad I asked her :) I will definitely be back to try their other sweet pies and maybe pick up a large pie for my next family gathering!! Good to know they have a pick-up window location in San Jose. This must be an excellent spot to shop for Thanksgiving!!

One of the best ways to treat yourself to the sweeter things in life, while shopping small and supporting local. And as this joint may only be open Thur-Sat for a few hours per day, you can find them at the Downtown SJ Farmers Market on Wednesdays too. I must add that they also serve savory pies that make marvelous meals, or additions to meals. Either types are all great for sharing. We get a few each time we go. Some for today, some to share with friends (better than giving flowers) and some for tomorrow. You can get hella pies for less that 100 bucks, and be all set.

Online you can only purchase their 9" pies, but in person at the pie shop you can buy their 5" pies. The pie shop is take-out only, and there's a parking lot right next to the building. I've tried six of their pies: cherry, double strawberry, brown sugar peach, chicken, sausage polenta, and spicy mushroom. The sweet pies and chicken pie were fantastic. The spicy mushroom was good, but it wasn't spicy. I didn't like the sausage polenta pie because the sausage was a dense patty and the polenta was a dense puck underneath the sausage patty, and I think it would've been much more pleasant to eat if there had been small pieces of sausage mixed throughout the polenta. Otherwise, Sweetdragon is a great pie shop that I plan to return to for my next pie fix.
