FAQ:
"They have a large selection of bikes. I was browsing around their website for info. I’m still researching. I got lots of feed back from their site."
"If you want a lightly used bike at a fair price, you will do no better than Superior Motorcycles. In March I picked up a Ninja for transportation to my new job, and Bert said he would take care of her if any troubles. I had 2 minor issues after purchase, and he was happy to help both times and fix her up (included in purchase price!). This thing runs like a top and I have zero complaints. Great guy and high level of integrity here ++"
"STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- June , . I would like to review the quality of the motorcycle I bought at Superior Motorcycles in Staten Island - unfortunately I can't. Last Saturday I saw a new addition to Superior's "Current Collection" page on their website. I immediately called the owner and said I wanted the bike. He agreed to hold it for me. We negotiated how much I would pay in cash as a downpayment and how much I would finance. We left off with the owner saying that his wife would call me the following week to get the information she needed to run the financing app, in order to see if I was qualified for a loan. No one called - because the owner sold the bike to someone else. I found out about this in the oddest way. Apparently the owner showed my business card - which I had given to him on a previous visit - to the prospective buyer. I would guess this might have been used as leverage, i.e., 'I have someone interested so if you want the bike buy it now.' As it turned out the prospective buyer knows me and said as much. The owner asked my friend not to tell me that the bike was sold. Very odd - how did the owner think I would fail to notice? Well, my buddy called to tell me the story and I am passing it on to others. Why? If the owner would sell the bike after promising to hold it - and ask my friend not to tell me about the purchase - what else would he fudge? I decided not to patronize this shop for that reason. The motorcycles may indeed be "superior" but the service is definitely not."
"I'll talk about initial impression, some of the other reviews, and finally the bike I bought along with my thoughts on Superior's key value. If you're looking for a clean bike under $5k, you've probably already come across Superior on craigslist. It's almost unavoidable when looking for a bike in this price range in NYC. I thought it was weird that there isn't much of a website or contact info...just a phone number. I also wasn't sure who the owner was or what the hours were. So my first impression was a little odd, which seems that other customers agree. After having to go out to SI a few times to see a couple of bikes, I realized a couple of things. The owner, Bert, is the guy to talk to, avoid talking to anyone else. Bert knows his stuff. And because of this, he's super busy, so it might seems like he's not interested or available. But he's just crazy busy. I bought a VFR for $. Bert was super up front about the work done on it, the strengths vs weaknesses about the bike. He was very helpful about selling and doing the title for me. Special mention, he took two trips to the DMV for me. Anyhow, the bike is clean and runs really well. If you're looking for a bike around $3k, and are willing to TRULY deal with the issues of a $3k bike then this is the place to go. I feel that there aren't a lot of dealers like this out there. If you can get in good with Bert, know a little about picking up used bikes, and want something cheap and reliable, then this is the place to go."
"I took my bike to Superior for few small things. Bert (owner) advice me what to spend and what not to spend money on. You cant find old school places like this anymore. I hate to go to places where you have to deal with 3 people before you get your bike repairs. I hate people with clip boards and try make a big deal out of nothing. Also if you thinking of changing your bike Bert will find you a good deal and make a trade for yours. I might do that very soon. While my bike is been repaired he gave me a Harley to test ride on."
