Their online store prices are cheaper than in-store, and even then most of their selection can be bought cheaper from Target. Otherwise ok collection.

The vibes aren't it here. This is a weeb teenager's idea of an Asian grocery store. Real Asian convenience stores are functional and understated, like Sunrise or Katagiri. The prices here are marked much higher than what you'd find at the other stores mentioned earlier, and roughly 100% higher than you'd find in Chinatown. This place is stuffed with tacky Asian "flair" For example: multiple red lanterns hanging for no reason, except to shout "this is Asian!!!" Row and rows of maneki-neko's (those waving cats). Having one for good luck is normal. Having dozens lined up in a row is borderline mockery. Same thing with rows and rows of red panda containers - it's all just such bad taste and frankly felt disrespectful of Asian culture. Southeast is a medium-sized grocery space located in the underground Market Line food hall, below Essex Market. apparently, this is a temporary space for Southeast and it is moving to larger area in the Market Line. currently, the Market Line is only open from Wednesday to Sunday. the space is filled with Asian grocery items and snacks from furikake from Japan to Korean marinades to refrigerated dumplings to Vietnamese coffee and so much more. there’s a lot of different packaged ingredients for your kitchen needs— all from different regions of Asia. however there’s a ton of snacks from candies and chips to Pocky. prices are competitive with Asian grocers in NYC. i got some furikake and crispy garlic in chili oil. if you’re looking for something, ask the staff. It’s a one-man show. i’d definitely peruse the tables bc there’s a lot of items packed into this space.
