"I started riding at 6 years old at there first ever location. I love Jessica and Lacey. However once they started moving locations more often the whole atmosphere changed. Before it was like a family, they would even hire families to help teach classes. I remember there was a son and mom who would both teach me when Lacey and Jessica where busy. That was the best. But then it seemed like they started prioritizing the kids who’s parents would just spend the most money on shows, tack trunks, or other things that honestly you don’t NEED to enjoy riding. It got to the point these girls would bully me just because my mom wasn’t able to afford the cost of paying $ every time to enter me into shows. Like I’m sorry I didn’t come from a silver spoon house hold. But that doesn’t mean you should let other clients bully ones who where loyal from the start. Even the other mothers where super catty and rude. Had to put my happiness first. Overall it Became less about the horses and more about who would spend the most."
"Highly recommended as a family activity when you are staying at the nearby Fairmount Resort. Horse trail riding for 8+ year-olds, super kid friendly, with courteous and knowledgeable staff."
"I had been doing lessons once or twice a month casually for about a year before deciding I wanted to take it more seriously. I did some research for barns and landed on South Coast. I was particularly interested in training with Jessica because of her sports background. It was is a language I could understand and the type of discipline I wanted to bring to my horse training. I came to tour the barn and saw some people jumping. I told her that was what I wanted to do. Okay, she said. My experience has been amazing. I started riding 3 times a week and immediately noticed a difference. Jessica is a very intuitive teacher. She doesn't beat me down with technicalities all the time. She lets me ride and explains things to me as they become relevant. In this way, my "feeling" on the horse came around quickly. When she noticed I was getting more comfortable, she upped the tempo of our training and pushed me with more technical exercises and flat work that would help with my jumping. She was exactly the kind of teacher I was hoping for. I progressed fairly quickly and realized I was going to need a bigger horse with more jumping ability. Jessica was able to match me with a beauty of a Swedish warm blood that I now ride 6 times a week. We jumped 1. a couple weeks ago and I smiled for the rest of the day. I don't come from a horse background. I just wanted to do something new and challenging. I didn't realize I was going to find something so dynamic and beautiful. I can no longer picture my life without riding. On top of that, I love the people at the barn. Lacy is a remarkable trainer in her own right and always teaches me something new when I lesson with her. The other riders are amazing. The grounds are beautiful. And not to sound corny, but I generally enjoy my life a lot more having this new hobby (obsession)."
"Thanks to Lacy, Maddie, & Sam for an extraordinary "horse camp" experience. Our grand daughter learned so much about horse care and riding at South Coast Equestrian ... a pivotal moment in her life!"
"Had an anazing birthday here and definitely coming back for lessons"
