"Disappointing - not worth it and wouldn't go back. The food wasn't good and you can get much better somewhere else. The reservation site said outdoor "patio seating" - the outdoor seating was a single table and chairs on the sidewalk outside, in front of the storefront next door. No lights, dividers, decor, heater or anything to make it feel like a nice dining experience instead of a table that was dragged outside at the last minute. Food came out incredibly quickly, faster than the drinks. It just wasn't a nice experience. Cocktails - great. Food - hit or miss, VERY expensive for the quality, small plates / left hungry and out $. Hamachi ($.) - delicious. French fries ($9.) - horrible. All of them were overdone to be completely crunchy, and over half the bowl was little bits and quarter-inch-long ends. Lobster BLT ($.) - the sandwich was great, the house made potato chips were awful and tasted burnt. Clam linguini ($.) - very salty, fine. % service fee - handled very oddly by the restaurant. Receipt had handwritten note "not gratuity." So it's messaged to diners before the meal as a tip, but when the receipt comes it's clearly not a tip. We knew about the service fee and were fine with it originally but the "not gratuity" note was a surprise, and weird. Left still hungry, out $, weird vibes, wish I had gone somewhere else."
"The food was good but the service was an issue. The staff wasn’t friendly and we felt rushed, even if the place wasn’t particularly busy. I wouldn’t go again even if I enjoyed the food because the service ruined the overall experience. They also add an % service fee to your check without alerting you in advance - not good practice."
"The food is great! This is a a three star review for only one reason... Adding an % mandatory service charge that is communicated to diners specifically as NOT A TIP is a bad practice. This is not only not standard (I've never encountered this at any restaurant in the world) but puts the diner in the very awkward position of feeling they haven't paid for service even though they are paying a MINIMUM of % for the service they received. If the restaurant wants to ensure their employees are paid well, they can increase menu prices, or include service in the bill (their "service charge" is communicated explicitly as not a tip for service), or - bear with me here - the owners can actually pay their employees (!!) rather than shifting this responsibility onto diners Current practice is awkward, confusing and left a sour taste for us (made us feel bullied into essentially paying a %+ tip) at the end of what was an otherwise enjoyable meal."
"Every time I come to LA I have to visit this place - and . Believe me you wont go wrong at all . Must try if you are in LA"
"Mini lobster roll, smoked mahi dip, and kennebec fries rounded out a seaworthy lunch. Very fun decor and extremely kind and professional staff. The lobster roll was petite but packed with flavour and lobster. The toasted bun was buttery and delicious. The smoked mahi dip is a must have. I had to pace myself so I didn’t devour it immediately."
