Great old steam building in Seattle. Something you don't find much in Seattle or this area. Great space. Has an old wooden stair, no elevator for ada people since it is an old building. Great place for photography, and group tours. Only open on the second Saturday from 10am to 2pm by volunteers.

Interesting mix of history, architecture, engineering and science. The folks are well informed about all aspects of the facility as well as the history of the field and Seattle's place in it. A great way to spend an hour or so and you can't beat the price.

The Georgetown steam plant is only open once a month, but is free for all visitors including two tours a day. Each tour lasts about an hour. There are plenty of volunteers around the whole site to answer questions and give info about the history of the steam plant. It was a little chilly and rainy the day I went and the building isn't well insulated, so make sure to wear enough layers on cold days.

Short Features:

Old industrial facility with tours Large, former power plant dating back to 1906 offering guided tours of its inner workings.
