"I had earlier rated this place four stars. But on my last visit, I was very underwhelmed with the service. Waitress was distracted, unattentive and pretty rude. Ordered a turkey sandwich on toasted rye and a side salad. It came untoasted. Salad didn't come at all. Pointed out the untoasted bread and she said "you didn't tell me that ... but that's ok" I assumed she was going to bring toast, but she never did. Did anyone ever teach this toddler that "you" is an attack word? If you're dealing with the public, you should know that. And you should train your waitresses to know that, manager. In this case, I happened to be right; I'd made it very clear as my wife can attest. But even if I'd been at fault, just shut up and fix it. Salad finally came and it wasn't great - big chunks of light yellow lettuce core. Is the owner economizing or is the owner unaware that no one wants lettuce core? Waitress put her coat on and left without once asking if everything was ok or if we wanted anything else. Btw, turkey was excellent, but the experience was overall very meh. Shame there aren't many good deli alternatives in this city anymore."
"Absolutely delicious sandwiches. The bread was fresh and soft, the meat was fresh and flavorful, and the pickles were delicious. I have recommended this restaurant to friends and will definitely be back for more."
"Had the Jules Reuben and felt like I had died and gone to heaven, which is ironic, I know. Their corned beef was so tender, practically melted in my mouth, the sauerkraut was so soft but strangely crisp, and the rye bread was fried just right."
"Terrible service. Three times they’ve messed our orders up with no attempt to make it right. They left our bagels out TWICE, after having to walk back for them. No offer to deliver them, or apology. Then today on Sunday morning, they left out our nova salmon. We’ve called twice and they won’t do anything about it, promised to call us back and never did. This breakfast was with our dad, who is very ill, and we gathered to have a meal with him. I’m furious at their terrible attitude and lies to call us back and make it right. They’ve lost 5 customers now."
"What more could I ask for...one of the best corn beef sandwiches ever!! If you haven't been to Schlesinger's you should go! Best in the city!!"
