Here are some reviews from our users.
"I had an absolute BLAST surfing in Santa Cruz with this school!!! Tara was an amazing instructor, we caught some really nice waves thanks to her, while still keeping safe and respectful of other surfers. % would recommend! 😁"
"Our girls took lessons with several instructors both for group and semi-private lessons. All instructors were friendly and knowledgeable. The girls had a great time and it was easy to set up lessons, all lessons were on time, and payment was simple."
"I did both group and private lessons with the Richard Schmidt school in and and I give my highest recommendations. My instructors were patient and we felt welcome in the water and we did indeed stand-up and catch our first waves day 1. Our group had a mixed level of skill and everyone caught waves. A few months later I had some 1:1 surf coaching and learned more advanced techniques and principles which were tailored to my level of experience at the time. RSSS teaches with a true surfer's philosophy and can be the first step in your surfing journey."
"The instructors are excellent with an emphasis on fun and relaxation. I've taken private and group lessons from Adam and Saleh. They were very patient and knowledgeable. I have (inconsistently :) ) been able to stand, which is nothing short of a miracle. I also have been able to catch my own waves for the first time. The instructors don't have any concerns about my age (started surfing last year at ). That's a huge benefit. There is the assumption that I can do it without having preconceived notions. Of the 3 surf schools I've tried, Richard Schmidt's is by far the best. I found it very helpful to have a few private/semi-private lessons to get the feeling and personal instruction on your specific basics. Then try some group lessons to have more time to practice and see other students' methods. Have fun!!"
"We had so much fun and learned a ton in 2 short hours. We were lucky enough to have lessons with Richard! Highly recommend."
