Vanessa took the time to contact me the day before as to what time she would arrive on Monday to change the dressing for my PIIC Line. She would also let me know if she was running a little behind. Whenever I had questions pertaining to the process involved in my condition and care she provided me with an explanation in easily understood language and layman terms. In the beginning, I was quite uncertain whether I would be able to handle a self-given infusion, as I would be having to use my left hand (I am right-handed), but Vanessa taught me exactly how I could easily do it with no problem. And I did. Vanessa has a comforting, empathetic bed-size manner. She is a nurse who is knowledgeable in what she does, makes you feel safe and is never too busy to answer questions you have about your care. I always felt better after Vanessa’s weekly visit to provide care during my treatment period. She made me feel important and made me feel safe. I felt comfortable during the 6-weeks that Vanessa Aldridge was my home care nurse and I felt much better after my weekly visit and continuing care during my treatment period."
