FAQ:
"What a wonderful surprise! I couldn't believe it was FREE!! We very much enjoyed seeing all the different carriages as well as several race cars that had made the Pikes Peak Hill Climb."
"Amazing for anyone the that appreciates history of motorsports. They pack so much awesome in a small area, and Jeff, the liaison, was a wealth of knowledge."
"The museum is located straight across from the Broadmoor Hotel. Admission is free. There is a garage next door, with validated parking. Please google Penrose Heritage Museum for visitation hours and directions from Colorado Springs, CO, to the exact location. The Penrose Heritage Museum is some-what similar to the Pueblo Heritage Museum, but focusing on the Pikes Peak region. It has a variety of horse carriages from the Brougham (London, England), to the Studebaker and early motorized vehicles. A collection of dozens of saddles. The beginnings and history of the Pikes Peak Hill climb race, including actual race cars and historical facts and samples, also motorcycles and a mechanics shop. The recent upstairs addition has more surprises in store. All collections were donated by various historical figures. The history of Penrose and Hunt give an insight on the development of the Pikes Peak region and Broadmoor area. From gold prospecting, to building parts of the area. We highly recommend!"
"Great museum featuring historic horse drawn carriages and vehicles from the Pike’s Peak Hill climb. Lots of interesting information on the history of the area and personalities associated with it and the mountain. There is a parking garage right next to the museum with paid parking and the museum offers stickers to place on the parking ticket good for a limited amount of free parking. Unfortunately our sticker didn’t work and we paid six dollars for the short time we were parked in the garage. There are several electric vehicle chargers in the garage right next to the valet office and only two of the chargers were occupied when we arrived. The elevator is right near the valet office and takes you up to the street level. We had to walk outside of that building across the parking garage ramp and then into the front entrance of the museum."
"Fun tour with inventive displays and easy access. Interesting history about town, and the hill climb races. Free tour and parking was really a nice way to enhance our city !"
