"Had an amazing experience on the tour earlier today. Our host Kevin was incredible-friendly, interesting, and very knowledgeable. We were taken in a really comfortable van around Manhattan and saw fascinating sites such as the spot where the first organized baseball game was played, and the site of the Original MSG. They also passed around unbelievable artifacts related to the tour stops. The tour transcended sports and linked to our culture as a whole. I would recommend this tour to anybody, not just sports fans. Educational and fun!"
"Thank you, Kevin and Kathy O'Keefe for a special and unique experience! Your wealth of knowledge and passion is inspiring as is your proprietary New York Sports Tours content. My friend and I learned a tremendous amount about sports in context of civil rights, politics, the arts, and media. It was fascinating. The tour flew by. As a lifelong New Yorker, I was amazed how much I did not know about my City. I cannot wait to go again as every tour is original. The online database is fascinating."
"This is a MUST SEE for New York Sports Fans. Kevin, Kathy and the guest of honors (ours was Ann Liguori) did a deep dive into NY Sports history. I learned so many new facts about the origins of NY Sports on a private bus. Kevin and team were extremely friendly, knowledgeable and even took pictures to capture the memorable experience. Highly Recommend for sports enthusiasts or company outings!"
"New York Sports Tours just gave me the most fascinating excursion through time and NYC that I have ever experienced. Being an avid sports fan and growing up in the NYC area, I was aware of a great deal of the history and the monumental events in the vicinity—but I did not expect a fraction of the attractions that the tour encompassed. From the origins of local teams to the back-room shenanigans of conniving promoters, vivid images were brought to life at the actual locations of history-making deals, world-changing decisions and cutthroat betrayals. Not only were a wealth of expected items examined (like the Branch Rickey-Jackie Robinson meeting) but a treasure trove of sports lore (origin of the A.A.U. and nefarious nightspots frequented by the legends of yesteryear) flowed seamlessly as we roamed about midtown Manhattan. It all ended with great dining cuisine and atmosphere, as we were regaled with exciting anecdotes by one of my all-time favorite sports writers. An intimate, informative tour…not to be missed by anyone interested in NYC, sports or history!"
"What a tour! In all the years my wife and I have been coming to NYC, this was a most unexpected and enriching experience. From the narration given by someone who knows his subject, to the rare video clips and exposure to unusual artifacts we felt like we were transported back in time. Finishing our tour at historic Keens Steakhouse with Barbara Paddock, put the whole experience over the top. Make the time for this tour, well worth it."
