Zero stars to be honest. False promises, hidden fees and broken items. Would not recommend, I feel defrauded. You’re better off doing the job yourself at a self storage and it will be a lot cheaper and your items will be in a better condition. Do not hire this company, now they partnered with clutter and the fees are even worse. Promised on a flat rate deliver of $59 and ended up charging $400.

The worst company ever! Do not trust them they will charge for absolutely everything and more… worst service ever! If I could I would give them 0 stars! Only problems and a waste of time…

As many people have said. I wish I could give ZERO STARS. This is the worst moving company on the market today. Save your time and just go somewhere else. Terrible customer service, shady business practices. They will quote you and charge you different prices continuously throughout your storage process. They are terrible to deal with, their operations and communications teams do not communicate effectively., which leads to appts being cancelled or changed constantly. They will not provide you an address and will keep your stuff hostage if you ask to come get your items yourself. They have a tendency to up their prices and not tell you or get you to sign anything that says you accept the changes. DO NOT USE THIS TERRIBLE COMPANY. Trust the bad reviews, these experiences do not come from thin air.

The pick up was great. But the first time I asked to retrieve items, in my case limited edition Ansel Adams prints, two of the three had broken glass and one is damaged. When I am a week late with my payment, I am the recipient of a deluge of late notices via email and phone including and auction organization. I’m a recent divorcee forced to downsize. I fear from reading the reviews and my own experiences that the items, several heirlooms, I need to remove from storage May also be destroyed. Great concept but what is happening to customers’ property once MakeSpace retrieved it that there is so much damage occurring?

Never use their service or you will experience what I have gone through. Beware! They up-charge you without telling you, they do not cancel your service even after you told them so, and your stuff will get damaged. They trick you with words. 1. They up-charge you without telling you. I moved and needed a storage unit for 2 months while I was gone. MakeSpace offered a discounted rate, but it required a 3 month commitment. I was willing to do it because they included delivering service to my new apartment although I had to move everything to DC by myself because of the range of delivery service area. I was happy with their service until I got my first bill. The rate that I was promised was $99/month (5x5 ft), but they charged me $175 saying that they couldn't fit everything in the size that I was quoted for. I requested a written quote but they refused to do so because it may change depending on how much stuff I end up bringing. When I arrived at the storage site, I double confirmed wit...

The rate that I was promised was $/month (5x5 ft), but they charged me $ saying that they couldn't fit everything in the size that I was quoted for. I requested a written quote but they refused to do so because it may change depending on how much stuff I end up bringing. When I arrived at the storage site, I double confirmed with movers whether my stuff will fit in the unit or not. The answer was yes, meaning I should have never been charged $!!! I would have got rid of some of my stuff otherwise. So be aware that they may do that even after double checking. 2. They do not cancel your service. You have to keep an eye on your bank account. I moved all of my stuff out of the storage unit when the service was /2 months in. I asked MakeSpace staff how I should end the service. They told me once all of my stuff is out, the service will be terminated automatically. Guess what, I am charged TWO MORE months (total $) since I moved everything out of their storage unit. After this happened, I am deeply disappointed with their service. There was not a single word from them I could trust while using the service. 3. They advertised the delivery fee (1hr) free when going 3 months commitment, then they changed what they said. The only reason I used their service for 3 months was because they advertised that the delivery fee (1hr labor) will be waived if I do so. Of course, they changed what they said at the beginning and told me it is $ flat fee saying that I don't need to worry about the number of hours of labor. How nice? This is when I finally made an argument with them after experiencing what I mentioned above. 4. Make sure you get an insurance for your belongings. They destroy your stuff. I got my stuff delivered and three major items were damaged. These items were properly packaged with bubble wraps. It almost looked like they stepped on it and broke my furniture. My bike pedal is dented and the gear is completely broken. The chain goes off if I switch my gear. It was 3 months old bike before storing it. DO NOT believe that they will deliver your stuff safely to your door."
