"I worked with Fay Taragan who helped two of my kids with college selection and essays as well as setting expectations. Her help was invaluable and I would recommend Fay and Magellan to any student who needs help navigating the intricate process of applying to college."
"We knew would probably reach all time highs for college applications. Our focus was the UC system and Cal Poly. We worked with Fay Taragan at Magellan and she told us about other great out of state options as well. Our daughter applied across the board and was accepted to out of the schools she applied. Fay was absolutely instrumental in getting those results and assisted in all aspects of the application process including the all important personal essay. Strongly recommend Fay to anyone interested in college counselling."
"We hired Magellan to help us with the college process for our twins, and it was one of the best decisions we made. Debbie and her team were invaluable at every stage of the process. Throughout high school, they helped our kids pick classes that would be most helpful for getting into the colleges and majors that interested them most. When it came time to search for colleges, Debbie opened our eyes to just how many great colleges there are and helped us pick those that would be the best fit academically, socially, and financially. She has an incredibly vast knowledge of college options and is totally dedicated to helping students match these options to their needs. When it came time to apply, we had a realistic list of colleges that included a perfect mix of reach, target, and safety schools. On a personal level, Debbie has great rapport with the kids. She helped keep them on schedule with the application process in a very positive way. My kids looked forward to all their meetings with her and were so grateful to have her patiently answer all their questions. I cannot say enough positive things about her and the entire Magellan team. I highly recommend them; they have been worth every penny."
"My daughter worked with Michelle Silbernagel at Magellan and we are SO happy we found her! I honestly can't say enough good things about her. Her attention to detail, organizational skills, care and support, knowledge, and her nurturing attitude are top notch!! She made the process not only manageable but ENJOYABLE. My daughter actually said she enjoyed the meetings and application process rather than dread it like most do. If anyone asks me for a college counselor, I refer Michelle in a heartbeat! We are SO thankful we found her (thanks to my friend Shannon). We were actually with another counselor in our area (Bellevue-Eastside) and were hating it when my friend suggested Michelle. So incredibly grateful! You won't be disappointed if you decide on Michelle."
"Michelle Silbernagel, a Magellan Educational Consultant on the Eastside in the Seattle area, worked with our daughter starting in January of her Junior year. From the very beginning, Michelle spent time not only getting to know our daughter and her goals, but also getting to know our family. This is why I believe she was able to provide such amazing guidance and support throughout the college application process. She is very knowledgeable, so she was able to answer all of our daughter’s questions, and also very organized, which helped to keep our daughter on track. Michelle also goes the extra mile by doing a lot of research, which helped to identify some colleges that weren’t on our radar and proved to be a great fit for our daughter. When it came time for our daughter to write her essays, Michelle did an amazing job of helping her to identify what she should write about to highlight her strengths and of course, her editing was invaluable. Our daughter stuck to Michelle’s suggested timeline, so she wasn’t too stressed at the end and she was able to turn all of her applications in ahead of schedule. For us, having Michelle guide our daughter through this process was invaluable. We felt very comfortable being hands off since we knew that Michelle was helping our daughter to stay on track. My friends were commenting on how many conflicts they got into with their child during the application process and what a strain it was on their relationship. We feel so lucky that we didn’t have the same experience and we know it is a result of Michelle’s excellent guidance. I know that hiring an Educational Consultant can be expensive, but it’s truly worth every penny. We can’t wait to have our son work with Michelle again in a few years when it’s his turn to apply for colleges. Thanks again Michelle!"
