"I am so happy I accidentally stumbled upon this place. They really know there stuff!! My Janome had issues from day one and I watched tones of YouTube videos. Went to other sewing machine stores and still couldn't find a solution. But this place fixed my machine like brand new!! I'm still amazed how smooth its runs. They have a new loyal customer now.😊"
"Being in the customer service industry, I recognize excellent customer service when I see it. Today, I experienced it first-hand at La Mesa Saw & Vac! I got tired wasting a couple hundred dollars every couple of years on vacuums that start out mediocre (at best) and only get worse, eventually ending up on the scrap heap. I decided it was time to invest in a grown-up vacuum, one that's built to last a couple of decades instead of years. Are the cheap? No. But a wise man once told me to “buy once, cry once" and I think that applies here. Upon entering the shop, I was immediately greeted by a very pleasant (and knowledgeable) young lady named Shawnee. Over the course of the next hour and a half or so, I learned more about vacuum cleaners than I ever thought possible. Shawnee is extremely knowledgeable and it's no surprise, turns out she's the owners' daughter. By the time I finally decided and made my purchase, I was confident that not only had I chosen well, but that I'll also be well cared for after my purchase too. Servicing and repair services are offered on-site, when such things become necessary. Stop throwing your money away on disposable vacuum cleaners. Invest in something that's going to last while supporting this local small business! This family-run shop has been turning customers into clients since and it's easy to see why; They know the products inside and out and the customer service is truly top notch! If you haven't been to La Mesa Sew & Vac, you're really missing out."
"Worst customer service EVER! I just took my newly purchased vintage Singer in to see if they could give me an estimate and buy a new belt. It does have some cord issues but I was assured on the phone to bring it on in and they would assess it and basically give me the royal treatment. This was NOT the case. The older woman there was very dismissive and was clearly not interested in helping us out. She asked the technician, priming him with: "you cant do it right?" He was in the back room however i heard his response "i dont have time for that i have vacuums coming in". So all in all a disheartening experience. Thanks for giving me the time of day and making me feel like a valued customer. Like, regardless of whether u have time or think you can fix it, theres a way to treat people, and that isnt it!!! If you're looking for great service and reasonable prices with great customer service check out "Derek’s sewing machine repair". He works out of his home and got my machine running like a champ!!!"
"La Mesa Sew & Vac gave me a great price on a new Janome sewing machine and were incredibly helpful and responsive. When I made inquiries about machines with my list of must-have features, both Monica and Patricia made several calls back with information and suggestions. Jerry carried my new machine to the car and gave me tips on unpacking and checking for items that might be hidden among the packing materials. He and Patricia both told me to call with any questions or concerns. I love the idea of making important purchases at small local businesses. This was a win-win experience all around!"
"I recently came into possession of my great grandmothers sewing machine. This machine had sat for many years unused (she passed away almost forty years ago). My cousin found out I was gonna buy a sewing machine and offered it to me. Hooray, keep it in the family. Picked it up, noticed it was having some little issues, figured it needed a good cleaning and oiling. Took it to La Mesa Sew and Vac. Took them a few days to get the estimate, however once I approved the estimate amount they had the work done same day they gave me the estimate. They didn't upsell anything. It ended up being what I guessed (had sat for many many many years unused) and needed a good cleaning and oiling. they tweaked a couple more things and returned it to me for less than dollars. Machine works amazing. Well worth it for a machine that has a family history. I would definitely recommend this place, and if I have any further needs will bring the machine back. I suspect i will get many many years out of this antique machine."
