"5 min ambulance ride in SF cost me $3,. Out of network according to my insurance. Clearly, these people have a sweetheart deal with the politicians in city hall and the fire department that control the -1 contracting services. Just despicable. I complained to all of my elected officials who were sympathetic but not at all helpful (that's your office supervisor Rafael Mandelman). If you ever get hurt, do not give your name or insurance company. Go in an uber, unless you are on the verge of death."

"Heaven help you if you ever need an ambulance and someone calls King American. At a time when you often have no choice as to which company is called and you are under great duress, they force you to sign paperwork and then stick you with a huge bill. I just cannot believe that the owners and employees of this company can live in the bay area knowing they are actively extorting and praying on families at their time of greatest need. In my case it was $3, for a trip within San Francisco. That is $1,/mile! People need to be alerted to this extortion and there needs to be a way to fight back. It is time to stop these criminals. Shakedowns should be illegal."

"Was vacationing in bay area ( miles from home) when month old suddenly went into a seizure requiring transport to hospital. Billed $ and is, obviously, out of network. How can corruption be so blatant? In California too.. I thought the state was known for being more liberal minded. These people care about nothing more than extorting money from those in need."
