Where to start? 🤔 Well, as the name of the park implies, it "is land" (island). There is NO public water access here. There are privately owned homes that line the banks, throughout the span of the park, so the view of the lake is obstructed at best. Fort Worth, IMO, does a pretty good job of maintaining their parks for the most part. With that being said, there's PLENTY of shade trees and grass. Would be good for picnics, but bring your folding chairs and tables or picnic blankets to sit on, as there are no tables that I saw, or restrooms, nor is there a playground for children. But, if you're looking for peaceful for, say, reading a book, or maybe doing some outdoor photos, or just to take a short "nature walk", off the beaten trail, and to maybe catch a glimpse of the deer and a few other occasional animals, then this would be your spot.

I had such a great day here with my pup. We had the beach to ourselves and the water stays shallow a long way out. Calm water, beautiful scenery, so peaceful. We will be back!
