An excellent addition to San Francisco's existing round of exceptional omakase restaurants. The fish is flown in from Toyosu market. The staff were very friendly and engaging. The meal overall was great, with a few notable highlights. The dehydrated egg yolk garnish imparted an odd feeling of both dry seasoning and creaminess. I was concerned about whether the egg would absorb any sweat from the fish, but it was served quickly and cleanly. This is one of the few restaurants I've come across that have served milt. It's on their ala carte menu and I highly recommend anyone who's interested in Japanese cuisine to try it. The uni complemented the shirako's light saltiness wonderfully. One other item off their ala carte is the nikuzushi. If you want to taste the raw sweetness of wagyu fat, this is your spot. The only downside would be the parking situation. Eddy St is not an ideal place to park, so if you're coming in for a late seating, be mindful.

This place was absolutely amazing. My friend and I proceeded with the omakase. The ambiance was perfect and the staff was on point - they even noticed that I was left handed and reset all the utensils to accommodate (that's never happened in my life!). Highly recommend for amazing food, just look at my pictures.

In short, it was an absolutely great experience, especially for its price. The dinner omakase was excellent in variety, creativity, display and taste. Each dish was unique and curated with a lot of thought put into it, and overall was very satisfying at the end of the night. It wasn’t too much food either, and the pacing was perfect. The waitress was very knowledgeable and answered any questions we had about the menu or plates. The atmosphere was just exciting enough without being overwhelming. Definitely recommend!

I don't know if I could write a review long enough to express my utmost appreciation and excitement for Hinata. It was absolutely the best meal we had in San Francisco and one of the top meals I've ever had while traveling. It's worth every penny to eat here and I highly recommend adding a few special rolls after you finish with the dinner menu. The service was outstanding. Out server suggested the most delicious sake for us and was so informative. Everything was perfect! The only downside to this place is that it will forever ruin any regular sushi for you.
