The dim lighting, candles, and low seating at Hangawi create a comforting and quaint atmosphere. Guests remove their shoes at entry and are seated at open but intimate tables. This was my first experience with authentic Korean cuisine and Hangawi has lived up to its reputation. The food was rich with flavors seemingly familiar but unique enough to be new to me. I highly recommend the spicy cauliflower bites, I promise they aren't too spicy Genmar was a great server and all of the staff was attentive and hospitable. I drank like 5 glasses of water and my glass was almost never empty. Definitely check this place out if you're in the area, I know I'm already looking forward to my next visit

We ate here on Thursday night before flying home the next day. My wife and daughter are both vegetarians so I've eaten at hundreds of vegetarian restaurants and none have impressed me until I ate here. The vegetarian food here is simply amazing. From the broths to the dipping sauces - rich and full of flavour. Truly exceptional vegetarian food (and this is coming from someone who dreads being dragged to a vegetarian restaurant by his wife). I also have to thank the person who was able to get us a table even though the place was jam packed. Thank you so much for helping make our last night in NYC awesome!

The most luxurious place I’ve ever been to enjoy both vegan and Korean food…and it was really memorable! I’m amazed by the possibility of vegan cuisine…the seasoning is very detailed! The dessert is also finger-licking good. Devine dinning experience!

I had my New Year's eve dinner here. The food is amazing and everything is vegan! The vegetables are fresh and seasoned to perfection. The kimbap rolls are great, a must try. The todok hot pot was great too. The soju cocktails are good. Service is friendly and ambience is calming. All in all a great place to try and I would be returning for sure.

One of the best vegan places I have been to in NYC or elsewhere. Love the place, the seating is awesome, the aura, the ambience and the food is absolutely fantastic. The price is little on the higher side, we spent 60$ for two people Would definitely recommend one to go here
