"Although I have been pleased with the service and cost for having my lawnmower blade sharpened annually and for related purchases (a qt. of oil and a sparkplug) these last few years, my bill this year for the same service and purchases was more than doubled, primarily because of an added $ labor charge. Questioning this charge, I was told that it was because oil had been added--a service I had never requested. And when I argued that I had drained the old oil out myself so that I could add the newly purchased oil, I was told condescendingly that it was feared I would go home and start the lawnmower without adding oil and blame the shop—despite the fact that no one there in previous years had ever added oil and that I’ve been draining and adding the oil myself since purchasing the mower years ago!"
