"I got engaged. Yay! But as soon as it happened, I was worried about theft or loss or damage. I needed to get this added to my insurance policy ASAP. A little research with my insurance company and I found out I needed to have the ring appraised. I didn't want to wait any longer than necessary and I didn't want to spend a ton. A quick google search found Patrick and GemSecure. All of his great reviews are well deserved. I called on a Tuesday and made an appointment for the following Saturday. My fiance and I showed up and Patrick immediately made us feel like he knew exactly what he was doing. He appraised the ring right in front of us and had us hold the GIA certificate (which he hadn't seen). He independently verified each point on the certificate and ensured the diamond in my ring was the one my fiance had selected. He was able to determine every piece of information exactly as the certificate showed - we were very impressed! Then, he counted all of the accessory diamonds, weighed the ring to determine the gold value and explained the labor fees and markups. We walked out of his office feeling very confident in our purchase and his expertise and professionalism. hours later, I received the email version of the appraisal and I was able to start my policy ASAP. I am so happy with GemSecure and I hope to have many more pieces of jewelry to bring back in the future!"

I was going to go to some appraiser down town that charges less but then noticed he also was a buyer and seller of jewelry and had limited credentials so I decided to go see Patrick based on his qualifications, experience and overwhelmingly positive Yelp reviews and boy am I glad I did. Patrick was very thorough in his explanation of how he determined the insurable value of the gold and the diamonds--and when I had the ring converted into a pendant, he was able to reevaluate the new work and confirm the stones were the same exact ones from my grandmother's ring. When it came time for my fiance and I to get our wedding bands appraised, we didn't consider going anywhere else. Patrick is a true professional. Jewelry appraisal is his business, so unlike jewelers who appraise on the side, he's not trying to push you to buy a new piece or upgrade what you have (or trying to justify the price of his own workmanship). He focuses on providing the most detailed and unbiased information about your jewelry, which is exactly what I wanted from an appraiser.
