"We have long been fans of Friendship Chinese Restaurant. The food is always fresh and delicious! I love the Hong Kong Street style dishes and my husband loves the Barbarian steak. There are plenty of yummy appetizers as well. We have tried many of the dishes over the years and have enjoyed all of them."

"I was really looking forward to friendship’s Tuesday special. Got there early at 5: since they open at 5:. Understandably they needed to raise prices given higher food prices. The food still tasted good but wasn’t amazing and came room temperature. Look they are severely understaffed and it made the experience frustrating. It took one hour to get our food and the food didn’t come out together and when it was served it seemed it sat in kitchen for awhile given the food temperature. They also forgot the appetiser we ordered. They actually closed indoor dining while we were eating and turned away customers that made their way to eat. There were only 3 tables occupied and that was too much for them to handle. I wouldn’t recommend dine-in or carry-out at this point unless you are willing to wait for a few hours. I hope they can get back to normal since it used to be such a great place."

"Had an amazing meal here tonight - started with the egg rolls and the dumplings, both of which came out hot and fast and were super tasty. For entrees we had the barbarian steak, the oh wow cashew chicken + long beans, and the honey glazed walnut shrimp. Everything was hot, well-seasoned, super flavorful, and came in really generous portions. The service rivaled that of 5-star restaurants. We will definitely be back."

"My family has been enjoying Friendship for years. It is always, hands down, our favorite Chinese restaurant in Chicago. Soothing atmosphere, delicious food, kind people. On Christmas Eve we had decided to try something new, but thanks to Corona that restaurant had become take-out only with no notice. My husband called Friendship to see if the dining room was open. Through some miscommunication, we were told it was. We arrived and were told that it was take-out only, the dining room was open for a private party. We were clearly disappointed, but we set out to leave to find an open restaurant The owner stepped in. It’s Christmas Eve! The miscommunication was on their part (I have no idea if that is even true)! They will make us a table! Do we want free appetizers? Please, have free appetizers! They treated us like royalty, they were really SO sweet and kind. They rescued yet another Christmas Eve for my kids from Covid. They gave my kids necklaces of blinking Christmas lights much to their delight. The food was, as ever, truly amazing. My family ordered A LOT and it managed to get eaten. The drinks were HUGE (we could each only order one) and delicious. They even made my teen daughter a special virgin drink that was actually a quite tasty adult style beverage and not just a carbonated juice mix. She felt very grown up. It was a very merry Christmas Eve filled with an unforgettable feast. Could not have asked for a more wonderful place to spend it."
