"Some background: My birthday coincides with Mother's Day weekend. All I want each year is to try and find a nice place to eat for my birthday, but it's always a struggle, because everyone is trying to take their mom out for Mother's Day. I was pleased to get a reservation at a nice seafood place this year -- it's been a long time since I threw down on some steak and lobster. We arrived to find that it was (surprise!) a buffet for Mother's Day. And it was buffet only. And the buffet was absolutely atrocious. The food quality was pitiful and the selection was abysmal. I didn't catch the check but $ a plate would have been too much. We might as well have eaten at Golden Corral -- actually, that probably would have been better because at least there would have been a greater selection. Awful experience from start to finish. Nothing enjoyable about it. It has been years since I had a nice birthday dinner... guess I'll have to try again next year."
