We stayed here one night because of its distance to the Amalie Arena. The hotel was nice enough, very well maintained. They did have a social/happy hour which was cool, and a good way to meet other guests. The rooms looks were contemporary, which I like. There were issues with the original room we were given, such as it not being cleaned enough, but they did make it right by allowing us to switch rooms and comping our valet. The queen size beds seemed small, almost like full, but that may be relative, since my wife and I are used to sleeping in a king-sized bed. What really made this experience was the fact that the Sunday we left, it was mother's day. Understandably they did not have room service up and running yet, but the food and drink supervisor, Steve, went above and beyond to custom make my wife a big breakfast, with her favorite type of eggs, bacon, coffee, orange juice, pancakes, a fruit platter fit for a queen, even flowers. It was amazing. I brought it up to her room on a ro...

First off, the staff was amazing. Every person we interacted with was great. Second, the location is amazing. Third though... the room is not worth the price. It was quite dated. There were water stains and a cracked ceiling. The carpet was dirty, stained, and ripped. The toilet seat was broken. Our AC was not working but was promptly fixed but never got quite as cold as we would have liked. It's not a terrible place, but if you're spending the money, spend it somewhere else.

Incredibly expensive for the value. I encourage you to book on line and DO NOT wait until the last minute, especially to book on a weekend. Do not book at the desk as you will not receive the available online discounts. Although it is a suite, not worth $400+ a night . The rooms need some work to get up to date. You are provided 2 real glasses, 1 in our room was a quarter full of water and were apparently hand washed or just rinsed instead of cleaned in the dishwasher, unacceptable. The room could use a deep cleaning. The pool chairs are dated and the tables need to be cleaned periodically. The upside, a free happy hour with limited selection from 5pm - 6:30 and breakfast daily, that offers a decent selection. You have been warned ⚠️

My three-night stay has been a nightmare. First, my room wasn’t available at 4pm on the day of arrival. Second, I was here on business and needed to bring books and papers up to the room, but there were no carts available. I was offered a plastic bag (for books!), which immediately ripped, causing my papers and books to scatter. I asked for assistance and/or a bellman’s cart (and I happily would’ve paid and tipped), but no assistance was offered. Third, one of the elevators was malfunctioning, sending me and other guests randomly up and down the elevator shaft. One of the guests commented that, the night before, the same elevator made a loud banging sound and then began drifting slowly down. Other guests were jokingly referring to that elevator as the Tower of Terror. For so many folks to be aware of the problem and for the elevator to still be operating was disturbing. Fourth, certain parts of the carpet in the room were crunchy when I walked across the floor, as if something was spil...

We're in our second room this evening. These people don't know what ADA compliant is. I'm too tired to complain again. At least there is room for the wheelchair in this room. No grab bar near the toilet and the toilet paper can't be reached. For $400 a night, clean chairs would be nice.

Fourth, certain parts of the carpet in the room were crunchy when I walked across the floor, as if something was spilled and allowed to dry without cleaning. Fifth, the shower ceiling was bubbling, seemingly exhibiting water damage. Sixth, I requested some things from housekeeping and called 4 separate times over the course of several hours and nothing was ever brought to the room. I generally think Embassy Suites does a fine job, but my experience here was nothing but stressful and unpleasant."
