I really appreciate coach Maria’s coaching for my son, and feel how amazing the right coaching impact on my son. I still remember 1 year ago, I brought my son to try out at east valley swim team, my son's butterfly just like dog kicking, after 1 year’s training, and he had a beautiful strokes on all 4 different swimming and he is also eligible for state level competitions. Coach Maria is such a great coach and I feel so lucky to have her coaching on my 2 boys during past 6 years.

My two kids improved a lot on swimming skills and speed since they joined East Valley swim team under Coach Maria's instruction. Before I spent a lot of time and money even private lessons in other swimming school, they just jumped into the pool for play, not really work hard on learning swimming techniques. One night I went to find a swim team for my son and luckily I met Ms Maria was doing training for kids in the swimming school. I decided to enroll my kids in East Valley swim team. Ms Maria is a very professional swim coach and my kids really enjoy learning swimming under her training. They also become more and more confident with swimming, not just playing in water for fun. They have great peers and great atmosphere. Kids grow a lot here!

One of the best swim coaches in the Chandler/Gilbert area for young/beginner swimmers. Maria focuses on the technique and building the right form from the start.

We have a great experience with East Valley Swim Team. Before joined the team, my daughter swam with several different swimming schools in the last two years. East Valley Swim Team definitely stands out as the best place to learn proper swimming technique. Coach Maria pays a lot of attention to the details of swimming form, like the way to kick, elbow position and chin position etc. While the coach is making sure kids swimming with proper form, she is also making sure kids to have fun in her lessons. Each swimming lesson ends with some kind of games and my daughter loves it.

I am a swim mom of two (2) Division 1 collegiate swimmers in the PAC-12 conference on full scholarships; one graduated in 2018 and the other, in 2020. So, I knew exactly what I was looking for in a swim coach for my youngest daughter and the last swimmer in the family. When we tried out with Coach Maria, I knew that she was The One! Technique is very important for swimmers to learn at a young age, or when they are just beginners in swimming. Proper technique takes time and it takes a special kind of coach, like Coach Maria, to be able to teach ALL four (4) stroke techniques. When swimmers learn this as beginners, they will learn good habits. Remember, bad habits are hard to break! That is why proper coaching is crucial in every athlete’s daily practices. Practice, when done correctly, makes perfect; and Coach Maria is very technical, attentive, patient with her swimmers at swim practices. Coach Maria is an effective technician in all strokes, and not many coaches that I know are! As...

Coach Maria is an effective technician in all strokes, and not many coaches that I know are! As my older girls’ coach used to say, when you are good in IM (individual medley) you are good in all strokes. And that is exactly what Coach Maria teaches, all four (4) strokes. Another observation that I believe is vital with age-group swimmers at meets is that, Coach Maria is very organized. Instructions are given to parents and the swimmers ahead of time. So when the meet comes, everyone knows what they are supposed to do. She gathers her swimmers before the meet. She is with them at warm-ups. She is there before their race for tips and positive words. She is there again, right after their race for race feedbacks, stroke correction and more positive words. It just makes the swimmers meet experience more constructive, enjoyable and most importantly, it helps build their confidence. Choosing the right coach and program is the key to your athlete’s success. We don’t live in the area, but we know that our long drive to swim practices is well worth it, because we made the right choice with Coach Maria Hass."
