"This was one of the BEST restaurants we ate it while we were in town for a visit in LA. I had done my research beforehand and heard great things about COD Seafood House so I was really excited to try out several of their dishes. Made reservations about two weeks in advance and was able to snag an 8pm reservation. I'd suggest booking even earlier if you want an earlier reservation as the place was completely packed while we were there and didn't slow down all evening."
"We had their pasta with fish roe and their market fish of the day on chard. I've never enjoyed chard as much as I did here. The pasta and the fish although cooked to perfection could have used a little more flavors. The ambiance was great. Although tables are very close to each other, that didn't really bother us. The restaurant is among residential buildings so it can be easy to miss on a dark night."
"Eating at COD was a terrible experience. I went to the restaurant this past week with three friends, and two of us got food poisoning from one of the seafood dishes we had eaten. The waiter who served us was extremely rude as well—they were impatient and attempted to remove dishes from our table before we had even finished everything on them. The waiter continued to hurry us even after we asked them waiter to be more patient and to give us more time to finish everything; it was like they wanted us to get out of the restaurant as quickly as possible. The walnuts in our walnut and shrimp dish were stale as well. The quality of the restaurant has degraded significantly since before the pandemic, and I do not recommend going."
"Chilean seabass out of this world!!! The beef noodle my brother ordered were absolutely amazing. I ordered an second plate of the fried rice because I like to eat and it was delicious as well. Next time I’m getting the oysters. Can’t wait to come back!"
"Visited Saturday night with Mom. We sat at the bar and a lovely lady made me a cocktail with house-made Lavender syrup, Vodka, gingerale, and lime juice. It was delicious and perfectly crafted. For appetizers, we both had the New England clam chowder, delicious. I had the lobster sandwich (not to be confused with the sushi lobster roll - I know East coast folks we call this a lobster roll but the place serves sushi, so whaddya want?) - it was exactly what I wanted, I was so happy. The bread was soft and fresh. The lobster was plentiful with a side of hot drawn butter and a lemon wedge. Perfection. My mom had some pan fried gyoza, she wasn't that hungry, but they were excellent as well. You can have them steamed or pan-fried. You can order online and pickup. Even if you reserve a table online, the place is small so there may be a wait. We did not have to wait long, but we ended up staying pleasantly happy seated at the bar and dined there. I look forward to returning and trying some more well-crafted cocktails and other entrees!"
