"I'm a recent graduate of Champions Barbering Institute (CBI) and a newly licensed barber. I came into this program barely knowing how to hold clippers to being able to give any client that sits in my chair the haircut they desire. CBI trains it students on all hair lengths and textures in order to be well-rounded professionals. I chose CBI because of their passion for the barbering industry and for their small class sizes. I appreciate the one-on-one time with the instructors, and the school's commitment to teaching to a variety of learning styles. Throughout this year-long program, I've compared CBI to art school. Once students learn the fundamentals, we go out to the barbershop floor to work on individual projects (clients). We can ask each other questions and give each other feedback, helping us all to hone this craft. CBI teaches its students not only how to cut hair, but also the sciences related to hair, personal finance, and how to start up and operate a business. I learned a ton about hair (more than enough to pass the state board exams), but I also learned a lot about myself. I will forever be grateful for what this program offers, and I recommend anyone interested in becoming a licensed professional barber to schedule a tour to see what the school is all about.
