Only had lessons with Ron for a few months but it’s incredible how much better I got in those few months. Ron taught me how to really feel the music and improv with intention and thought and to not just throw around notes. Ron would also help me with my own songs and even helped me figure out a solo before a performance. Ron has a lot of knowledge and can help you with anything you come to him with. At first I thought lessons over Skype would be a little difficult but they went smoother than I thought. Ron is overall a great guy and an amazing guitar teacher! Totally recommend him to anyone.

HERE IS A REVIEW THAT MY SON COMPOSED ON HIS OWN: I started taking guitar lessons with Ron about 2 years ago, as a complete beginner. Now I’m 14. Ron has taught me so much about guitar and music. I’ve learned a lot about improvising electric guitar solos, playing lead and rhythm guitar, as well as many more styles of guitar. He’s also taught me a bunch of songs that I play, ranging from Chuck Berry to Bach. One specific thing that he teaches me that I really like is learning new cool electric guitar riffs and licks that I improvise on. I’ve also come to appreciate all of the music theory he has taught me, and it’s very helpful in going beyond reading tabs and playing them, to creating music of my own. He’s also just a fun person to talk to — about what books I’m reading etc. Ron is himself a brilliant guitarist, and I aspire to his level of skill. I’ve made a ton of progress due to taking lessons with Ron, and I strongly recommend him as a guitar teacher.

Ron is a great guitar/music teacher. I have been taking lessons from him for 2.5 years. Before that I spend half a year learning guitar using YouTube videos. I wanted to share my experience in case you are considering starting taking lessons from Ron. Most importantly Ron moved out of Philly during pandemic, so his lessons are now through Skype. Even though the lessons are not in person you are still able to jam with Ron if you want to do so. On the other hand, you do not have to carry your guitar around, but instead can use your home set up for the lessons, which is much more comfortable. The lessons (for me) are once a week and then I am assigned different excersices to reinforce concepts from that lesson before the next session. Ron is able to adjust to your level, needs, and interests. He is a versatile player/teacher so he can give you tips on how to get that blues, jazz, rock, acoustic, country, funk, etc. sound that you are looking for. Ron gives you great fundamentals in terms o...

I've been taking lessons with Ron for about 2 years now, and he has taught me more about music than I could ever have learned from any other source. Ron makes the effort to help his students with any issue they are facing. To say Ron would be a big help finding your footing in the music world would actually be an understatement. He is very open to including his students in various gigs/ musical events. If you put in the effort, you will find success. In the two years I've been taking lessons with Ron I've become 10 times the guitarist. Things that I thought were hard to understand come easy to me now. Theory is much easier to understand, and crafting songs makes sense now. He is always looking to advance my playing forward and always has a plan for what is next. Also I feel it is worth mentioning that most of my lessons have been over skype due to covid restrictions. I was worried after meeting with him in person for a few months, that these skype lessons would be less effective, but I...

I’ve been taking lessons from Ron for about two years now and can honestly say that it has been a game changer for me. While I’d been playing for about five years beforehand I’d never really been able to understand the concepts behind what I was doing and was mostly limited to learning songs off of YouTube and UG. Ron was able to put the theory behind the guitar into something that I was able to comprehend easily and has completely changed the way that I think about playing music. In the two years that I’ve been with him my playing has improved dramatically and I’ve found that I have a better appreciate of music in general. While my primary reason for taking lessons was to improve my understanding of theory Ron is great for all things guitar. We’ve had a lot of fun learning different songs together and he’s pushed me to improve different aspects of my playing such as fingerpicking and slide. He’s even encouraged me to begin singing while playing, which is something that I never though...

Ron gives you great fundamentals in terms of music structure, language, and composition. These are things like how to use and mix different scales, how to build chords, how to play the same licks in different parts of the neck, how to transition between different parts of neck and so much more. This will also help you in understanding what all these other guitar teachers on YouTube are talking about and will accelerate your progress. He will fix your bad habits early, so you do not have to struggle later or even risk an injury. You can send him a song that you like and he will help you dissect how the song is structured and what licks can you play with the song. Lastly, Ron will teach you how to create your own music and how to be creative instead of you learning to always play licks/songs created by other people."

The pandemic hasn’t slowed us down any either as we transitioned seamlessly onto Skype, where we’ve kept the momentum going. Couldn’t recommend him more, if you’re looking someone that’s fun to hang out with, knowledgeable about all things music and a great teacher then Ron is your man!"
