"big cap beware, astranis is shaking things up"
"I interned here over the summer of '. Pretty amazing experience, / would eat here again... err work I mean. Astranis is like a year round senior design/capstone project in terms of the kinds of work you'll get to do. The point is everything, you'll have an opportunity to do everything under the sun if you choose. And the fun stuff, design engineering at it's max. Never a dull moment. You'll work with some of the sharpest people, with plenty of resources in terms of brain equity, test & measurement equipment and funding. The entire company is working towards one unified end goal, and all teams work together. None of this large engineer corporation bureaucracy nonsense going on here, no wasted resources or infighting. Since it's a startup, it can be small and mobile, so it's effectively a monolith that works towards the end game as efficiently and elegantly as possible. If you're an engineer worth their salt that should be something that greatly appeals to you. Also treat you as a person, not some cog. Everyone is very close while still being professional. It's a great balance, rare to have in a company honestly. Probably not a job to do if you wanna do grad school while working though. It still is a startup, so there work is exciting but time intensive. You could do your hours a week and leave, but honestly A) why work at a startup, B) you're really wasting a lot of great potential the workplace has to offer. That said it isn't tacitly or explicitly expected to work long hours, they treat you like an adult and let you decide how "much" work you want to do. The point is you have to get things done, being a warm body for hours isn't something they want or care about so if you're hoping for that, yeah this really isn't for you."
"It's good."
