FAQ:
"AMR is the worse ambulance company. They came because I called them to take my daughter to the ER. First they tried to say she wasn't having an asthma attack maybe it was her anxiety. Then the lady paramedic made a racial slur when she said my daughter was too dark to see her veins to draw blood. My daughter ended up having emergency surgery that night for blood clots. I called and told them but they have quit responding to my calls or emails. Terrible company!!"
"I wish 0stars was an option, after dealing with their "customer care team." I have a ridiculous bill from an auto accident that was not my fault and no health insurance to cover bills. I was told by them they will not offer any self-pay discount or financial assistance because it is from an auto accident. I was charged over $/mile to the ER, $ for the pulse oximetry, which is only $ if you buy your own at any drug store, just to mention a couple of their ridiculous charges. They are money hungry and do nothing to help patients financially. I have never dealt with a company that is so impolite and unhelpful."
"AMR is doing everything they can to profit off of people’s life-threatening emergencies. After I had an emergency ambulance transport (due to an organ failure) followed by a surgery, they claimed my transport was a “non emergency”, and because they claimed a “non emergency”, it was not covered by our insurance of course. They harassed me for an entire year to get me to pay them thousands of dollars for a minute emergency ambulance transport. Finally, after one whole year, they agreed it was an emergency (like every other medical professional who helped me throughout that trauma) and it was finally covered by our insurance. It was the worst, most terrifying, frustrating, and saddening experience of my life. I firmly believe AMR wanted to wear me down until I caved and paid them out of pocket. After a year of using my resources, the situation was finally handled correctly. Surely they do this to others who eventually give up because they are too sick or otherwise unable to fight back. It is so, incredibly wrong. People cannot choose who comes to help them when they are in a life-threatening medical emergency. AMR is profiting off of this fact. They are everything that is wrong with the American health care system. For anyone who is in an emergency medical situation, I hope for you that it is not AMR who responds. AMR, I don’t know how any of you sleep at night, profiting off of the sick and helpless."
"These so called first responders killed my yo son. When they responded to the scene they had been told Erik was having an asthma attack. Erik was still conscious and able to talk and made it very clear that he was having an asthma attack. He was also able to tell them he needed an EpiPen administered. Then he collapsed and lost consciousness. The EMTS decided instead that he had overdosed and administered narcan instead. Not once but 3 times. Then they called the hospital to talk to a doctor and was on hold for over a minute. They intubated him where he fell and by the time they realized that Erik needed an EpiPen it was too late. When I got there they were just packing up there equipment to leave. They left Erik laying in the dirt while telling me how sorry they were for my loss. Erik lay there for /2 hours waiting for the coroner to pick him up. THESE INCOMPITANTS NEVER BROUGHT A GURNEY OUT OF THE AMBULANCE AND NEVER ATTEMPTED TO TRANSPORT MY SON TO THE HOSPITAL!! I still have the unopened EpiPen that they left behind. The nearest hospital was 6 blocks away..."
"Very pathetic when they charge a year old lady an additional $. for Wheelchair Mileage and the use of their wheel chair! I'll go out of my way to make sure they never get another dime."
