This place is a dump, staff non existent, trash everywhere, restrooms disgusting and no merchandise on many shelves. It doesn't look promising for the future of this store at all. Too high of prices, everything they sell can be found at any Walmart for 50% less..with probably the same level of customer service..I give this store 2 more years at the most..watch.

I can't stand this place, the prices here are always insanely high and the staff goes out of their way NOT to help you. Irritating.

I'm a big fan of Academy Sports. They have pretty much anything you can think of that pertains to that kind of store and their prices are usually lower. The store in Matthews has always been my "go to" store ever since opening. The staff is friendly, professional, and very product knowledgeable. I can assure you will have a good shopping experience when you visit the Matthews Academy Sports.

Terrific experience and great discounts racks due to the holidays. I went on new years eve to get ammunition to shot at the range. They also have good deals on guns. I got three football ⚽️ for my three nephew's kids and the costumer service was exceptional. If you're planning a family or friends outdoor activities you can get it at Academy Sport. Good selection of ammo for a good price considering. They have a lot of empty shelves in the camping section. The price tags, labels, mini display tents, and actual boxes of tents don't match. I have no idea what the prices of the tents or sleeping bags are so I wasn't able to buy anything. The men's clearance section prices were not labeled clearly. It looked as though they had been hand written with a dieing pen. Again, I couldn't tell the price so I didn't buy anything.
