I had a great experience at this driving school! The driving instructor, George, was very knowledgeable, patient and encouraging. I would really recommend the 15 lesson package, as it allows you to feel secure in your newly acquired driving skills for the road test. What George teaches is specifically for the road test so when it's time to take the test, it feels familiar and you are prepared. Another thing to note is that this school is very accommodating when it comes to scheduling. Especially for someone like me, balancing school and work, George and his wife were able to make a schedule that worked perfectly for me!

For me, learning to drive in New York was nerve wracking. I put it off for years. But George was incredibly patient, attentive, and clear as a driving instructor. I opted for 15 lessons with him after failing at another school by 80+ points. By the end of my lessons with George, I was MUCH more confident. He clearly explains the basics (parallel parking, safe turns), which of your habits will lead to lost points on the test, and even drives you to the test site early so you get the lay of the land. And yes, I PASSED!!! Couldn’t have done it without George. Highly recommend him.

1st SGT Driving Academy is top notch. I just passed my road test with the help of 15 lessons with George plus the 5 hour pre-licensing course. There is no fluff here—George will teach you exactly what you need to know to pass your road test. Also, I had a couple of scheduling snafus and they really tried to accommodate me. Great teacher, professionally run business.

George is a fantastic instructor! He truly cares about making sure his students will be good drivers and safe on the road. He has a solid and regimented teaching plan, and is honest with his advice which I really appreciate. Thanks for getting me to the finish line George and co! (Coming from someone who hadn’t been behind a wheel before!)

After failing a few road tests at another driving school, I was referred to this driving school. George has taught me a lot from the beginning and never gave up on me. He is a very knowledgeable and fun instructor that is willing to put his heart into your learning. George is fun to talk to and he will teach you everything you need to be ready for the road test. With George's encouragement and instructing, I was finally able to pass the road test. I would definitely recommend this place to all who want to learn how to drive in NYC or refresh their driving skills here.
